    So my hairdresser would quit trying to convince me to cut my hair shorter and shorter into a hair style I don't want because she tells me I now have no neck, and that ummmm... double chin doesn't help.

      Wow. How did I miss this thread!!!

      My excuse for not eating junk.........

      I want to look good for me.
      I want to look good for my wife.
      I want to look good in front of people when I perform.
      I don't ever want 'elastic - god I hate that word' in my trousers ever again.
      I don't want to be afraid to take my shirt off in public
      I don't want to scope out the 'chair that will fit me or I won't break' at family events ever again.
      I don't want to come back here and say, 'I cheated' please forgive me.
      I don't want the cute waitress' where I play to ever stop saying...'dang Scooter.....you're lookin' good, Karen better watch out!!' (ha-ha)
      I don't ever want to look in the mirror again and say, why are you killing yourself!!!

      What a great thread Jimmie. I think we need to always keep this alive. 'The never ending thread' for sure!!

        i love going back through these posts ya'll are making. such good stuff! and some of them.... forgive me... are a bit funny, but oh so true!!!

        i had a friend who was big and her husband was bigger! we all went to 6 flags and they wanted to ride this thing that took them way up in the air so you could see forever and beyond. they were over the weight limit to ride together and didn't want to go separately. THAT'S what i don't want to ever happen to me so it's another excuse to not eat junk.

            hmmmm...lets see...
            I am tired of wearing sweatshirt after sweatshirt just to cover myself up when i want to be wearing stylish form fitting clothes that i see everyone else wearing
            I am tired of my uniform (i am in the navy) being tight every morning to the point where when i eat it is uncomfortable
            I am tired of feeling guilty eating a mini sized candy and feeling like everyone is thinking "boy she sure doesn't need that"
            I am tired of my mirror being the enemy
            Yep, i am sure i could come up with some more but that is probably the top ones....

            Start date: May 28th

            June 11th: goal =169 MET GOAL, JUNE 3RD (16
            June 25th: goal=165 MET GOAL JUNE 10TH!!

            August 13th: goal= 145 and 15 inches lost
            August 30th: PT test/Weigh in for the Naval Academy!!!
            Inches lost since May 28th: 2.5 Thighs, 1 hips, 2 waist

              it's good to see the revival of this thread after about a month. good to see someone else has some very good excuses for NOT eaing junk!

                I want to live! Last night I watched this movie "Mystic Pizza". There was a girl getting married in one scene. She was dancing and plopped down next to a few ladies who were all obese and stuffing theirselves with cake. The girl looked at the women around her and it disturbed her as she had a cute little figure and you know she was imagining that it would be her after a few years.

                When I saw that scene, I thought to myself I am the lady who sits with the other fat ladies eating cake. I was horrified!!! What an eye opener. I don't want to be like that. I love cake...but it doesn't love me. In fact cake is trying to take my life.

                Thats my excuse for not eating junk. I will loose this weight!! Stand back and watch me melt!!!!!

                I was on atkins last year in the early fall and lost about 30 pounds. I obviously gained it back...but I know this is the right diet for me as it works very good. So I am back!

                    I cheated last week and had some pasta salad and some ice cream at a party. I didn't over eat by any means. When I weighed the next day it says I was up 5 pounds. We have a bet at work to lose 20 pounds by the last day of school or we had to put $100 into a pot for the people who lost. Seeing the gain with a little intake of the bad stuff was an excuse enough for me to not lose $100 for a little ice cream.

                        my excuse was i couldn't tie my shoes without inhaling and holding my breath.
                        ME TOO!!

                        I'm also tired of worrying if the safety bar on the roller coaster will fit over me.
                        I'm tired of squeezing into the seats on planes.
                        I'm tired of breaking chairs (5 that I can recall)
                        I want my brother and sisters to follow my lead.
                        I'm tired of making jokes about my weight to cover how embarrassed I am by it.

                            This thread rocks!! I can think of thousands, but here are just a few!

                            *I want to be able to play with my kids, and not be totally winded
                            *I want to be able to go mountain biking with my fiance without him laughing so hard at me and the hills ( it IS pretty darn funny though )
                            *I want to stop looking like a lesbian ( not bashing here ) when a skinny chick walks by because Im checkin out her stuff thinking " if i could only look like that "
                            *I want to be the thin sister for once
                            *I want people to stop saying " you have such a pretty face "
                            *I want to be able to go in the pool without taking my clothes off as fast as I can and diving right in...I want to come out of that pool Bo Derek style
                            *I want to be able to get out of the car, bend over, walk, run, sit...ect...without tugging at my clothes
                            *I want to be able to sit on the couch without a pillow covering my muffin top gut

                            Geesh I didnt know I had all that...Guess we all have a lot of reasons to stay on this!

                              Ever since my daughter was old enough to carry on a conversation, she didn't recognize me in my wedding photos (120-125lbs) - I want her to know that's really her mommy.

                              I want to enjoy my kids, go places and feel comfortable, not be the fat mom.

                              I want to stop having to tug on my shirt all the time.

                              I want to bend down and actually tie my sneakers instead of just putting my feet in already tied shoes.

                              I never want to hear my husband say "You're not that fat" or "Wow, you weigh a lot more than I do" ever again.

                              I never want to hear my friends say that I don't look like I have that much weight to lose just to try and make me feel better.
