    i've really enjoyed the input in the thread.

    see, for all the excuses we've seen, heard and maybe even use ourselves, there are a boatload of excuses for NOT eating the junk and NOT straying from our set goals.

      I love this thread.

      My excuses:

      *If I have anything peeking through my clothes, I want it to be MUSCLE.
      *A few months ago, I injured my knee and I feel like lightening my load will help.
      *I've been doing a lot of researching for school (A&P), and that is making me more health-conscious
      *I have so much clothes in my closet that I want to wear! Scratch that, I want them to be too big for me!!
      *FOOD WILL NOT CONTROL ME. IT WILL NOT RULE MY LIFE.
      *I know how self-conscious I feel, and I don't want my children to ever have to worry about it.
      *I want to weigh less than my husband! He's a string-bean who can't gain weight at all. I'm 15 pounds away from his weight.
      *I want my outside to be as beautiful as I feel I am on the inside.
      *Maybe I will inspire others to be healthy.
      *If people are looking at me, I want it to be because I am SMOKIN' HOT!

      These are just a few excuses. Thinking about them, though, it reminding me why I started doing this in the first place.

        I don't want to be a slave to food.

        I want to walk on stage and focus on the music I am making, not how fat I look to the audience.

        I want to live my wildest dreams and stop letting my weight hold me back.

        I want to play long, beautiful phrases on the trumpet, which requires optimum breath control, which requires physical fitness.

        I want to be able to shop anywhere and wear fabulous clothes.

          my excuse is bending over to tie my shoes and getting out of breath. i always had to find something to hike my shoe up to so i could reach it. I never want to have to do that again.

            This is such a great post!

            My excuses (that keep me going):
            I want to feel strong and physically capable
            I want to look gorgeous
            I want to try a get a few family members involved in losing weight

            My excuse for when I am out and people offer food I can't have is very simple: 'I didn't lose this amount of weight by magic'. They always get it then no hassle. Or if I'm with people I don't know and don't want to bring the diet word up I just say I don't eat sugar.

                seeing all the excuses for not cheating will serve us well as get into the mood of putting on our swimwear!

                hey! that's another reason!

                another excuse for NOT eating the junk is i want to fit into the bathing suit i bought last year!

                  i am usually not one for bumping a thread but i've been seeing some negative, i cheated things and once again i am wanting to say


                  WHAT EXCUSE DO YOU HAVE FOR
                  NOT EATING
                  THE PIES, THE CAKES, THE CANDY AND THE CARB LADEN FOOD
                  THAT MADE EVERYONE US OVERWEIGHT?



                  another for me is i want the power to say i did this without mucking up every other day.
                  i don't want to go throught the rest of my life doing induction every other month (as we are told abuse of indution is not a good thing)
                  i want the power over my food, not vice versa.
                  i am WORTH IT!

                        No cheating here and Induction is over tomorrow - woo hoo!!

                        My excuses:

                        I want to simply be able to get up, get dressed, and not THINK about getting dressed. Just put something on and walk out the door, not fret over whether or not the clothes are hiding my big belly.
                        I want to have my three girls see me eating veggies so they will too.
                        I want to go to the beach in July with my thin best friend and her family, and be able to share clothes with her!
                        I just want to be healthy, not tired, not crabby, not ravenous, not out of control anymore.

                          i think this is a timeless thread. doesn't matter how old it gets, it's still relative to what we doing, no matter who comes and goes, no matter the rung, the challenges, the time spent on the board......it will always apply. as long as i keep seeing peeps stuggling and saying "what's the use" or "i've had enough, i cain't do this", i'm going to keep bumping this thread.

                          i like being the skinny sister!
                          i like wrapping my legs around my husbands waist and not stroking him out!

                          those are 2 excuses that will keep me away from the junk!

                              I dont want my kids to be orphans.
                              I want them to not just love me..but be PROUD of me.
                              I want to be proud of ME.
                              I want to conquer what has been the bane of my existence.
                              I want to wear shorts! And..dare i dream, a bathing suit!
                              I want to be free of the self-imposed prison i have been in for 20 yrs.

                              Oh, and around other people..I just tell them i have celiac and cant be sure that doesnt contain gluten. A little gluten can lead to cancer for me..that shuts em up.

                                This is a great thread, as i stated earlier my number one excuse to do this is to live to see my kids grow up. Some other excuses is, to have a better view of myself, i think i have had low self esteem long eneough. For two, i want to be an inspiration to someone else out there who has no hope when it comes to losing weight. For three i want to be able to climb a mtn and not think im going to die from a heart attack because i cant breathe. I want to go to an amusement park with my kids and not be scared im not going to fit in the seats, i want to enjoy life with them. Oh my god i could go on and on, i think of one excuse after another. I will come back to this thread if i ever feel the excuse of cheating and read over this again for inspiration!!!
