    I have just restarted Atkins again. Third time is a charm right?! Right! I was flipping through the forums and saw this thread. I needed this! I was so craving something sweet. I started thinking about why I am worth more than the craving:

    Buttoning pants without sucking "it" in.
    Not going up a size; but going down one.
    Having the endurance to keep up with my 10 year old.
    Not fearing a swimsuit.
    Wearing high heels again.
    Not searching for the XL scrubs at work and then hording extras in my locker so I have something to wear my next shift.
    Enjoying food and not obsessing over it.
    Teaching my daughter to be healthy, not a statistic.
    Liking my re-found health and knowing this is how my life is meant to be.

      i really enjoy reading the continued excuses for sticking to the plan and
      eating the way we should.

        My public excuse is:

        1. I just don't like to eat that way anymore.
        2. I enjoy not feeling exhausted after a meal.

        My internal excuses are:

        1. To be healthy
        2. To lose enough to not fear pregnancy
        2. To have low blood pressure and normal blood sugar levels
        3. To no longer feel inadequate
        4. To comfortably fit in anything I sit in (car, plane, seats, amusement
        rides, and booths!)
        5. To dress ina ll the clothes I love !!
        6. To just feel BETTER!

          My excuse and motivation is:

          I don't want five year old to get teased at school that she has a fat mom. <tear>

            ....Hearing my Aunt call me "Beefy" after seeing me the first time in months since I had gained the weight!
            ...looking at my 700 "fat" bathing suit pics!
            ...wearing a size 14 in pants and not being able to button them.
            ...not being able to fit into any of my clothes and only able to wear sweatpants or clothes with stretch.

              Oh, great thread. Let's see...

              Being able to bend over to tie my shoes and breathe at the same time

                Because I'm looking forward to buying normal size clothing for the first time since like 5th grade (went from a girls 16 plus in 6th grade to a ladie's 16 in jr high to a 18 in highschool and a 20 in college and a 22 in the last 2 years)

                Because real food tastes so much better

                Because induction flu feels like you've gone to H-E-double hockeysticks and back and I don't want to go back!

                Because I always said I'd never be the girl who was at the crack of this joke: "What dessert makes women gain more weight than any other? WEDDING CAKE!!!" It's been 2 years and I gained 18 lbs... 8 more to lose and I'll be back to wedding size... then I'm going to do the opposite and lose weight in my newly wed years!!!!

                Because my husband & I love to hike/bike/swim etc etc and I want to go with him not hold him back

                      I don't eat it because as delicious as "it" (whatever "it"is), it's not near as
                      delicious as being 26 lbs lighter, enjoying getting dressed and undressed again, and not near as delicious as the way sex is more fun now!

                          Don't get me wrong, I loved my mother ... but she was morbidly obese, completely sedentary, and simply gave in to it; by the time she was 40, she looked 60 ... she still lived to be 80, but I wouldn't call her a great role model, health-wise. I seem to have inherited her genes, but I'm fighting it at every turn. So my idol is my maternal grandmother... trim and healthy, she lived to be 100

                            I just read all 21 pages of this thread! And I agree with a lot of what everyone has said .

                            My excuses to NOT eat carbs:

                            - My fiance is like 70 lbs lighter than me. NO BUENO. I will NOT have that on our wedding day!
                            - I am sick of sweating! I sweat when I blow-dry my hair for crying out loud.
                            - Tired of constantly pulling my shirt down, or pulling my pants up.
                            - Tired of yo-yo dieting. If I take that bite, UP GOES THE YO-YO
                            - I have feeling so self-conscious around everyone. Even my family. I have even been avoiding going out with an old friend just so I don't have to feel embarassed.
                            - The limited clothes in my wardrobe. I am NOT buying anymore big sizes, so I have to wear a lot of old stuff. I wear everything once a week.
                            - Sick of being so self-conscious "in bed". I don't like to take my shirt off and when I do I feel like I have to cover up all of the time.
                            - I want my fiance to be proud to show me off, and I want his friends to be jealous of him!
                            - The backaches, knee pain, etc... TOO YOUNG to be having this crap!
                            - I want to prove to everyone that I am serious this time. And I have been.
                            - Just flat out sick of being in this body.

                            If I think of any more (which I'm sure I will) I will definitely post again.
                            Weight loss currently on hold! Baby due 11/22/09

                              i really love seeing that this thread brings such good things to mind... mine and yours! this is such a positive way to reinforce why we do and continue to do atkins.
