Re: No... you're NOT doing Atkins correctly

I'm THRILLED to see an Atkins discussion board featuring "the Police" and "by the book" for its members!!! My last round, I used a discussion board (which shall remain nameless) that was, shall we say, very touchy-feely. Everyone cheated, everyone "slipped," everyone [fill in the blank]-ed. Then, instead of a firm admonishment to get back on the plan, everyone responded with their own cheat, slip, [fill in the blank] stories. It became problematic for me, because I lost 107 pounds by following DANDR to the letter and not cheating--even once! It would've been great to have been here instead of there during that four-year stretch. Oh well. Anyway, I'm back after pregnancy, childbirth and gaining 70 pounds by eating EVERYTHING IN SIGHT for nine months. I've got 46 to go, and am so looking forward to being size 4 again, instead of size 14. So you police folks, keep it up! Love ya!

Sorry, I'm not who you think. Never been here before. I accidentally capitalized "Police" and left it because it struck me as funny. Apparently you got it!

I got really fat because I love fast food, sugary desserts and rum & cokes. I ate when I wasn't hungry, but because it was there. I ate the last piece before someone else could "finish it." I overate all the time and had no shame about the quantities of crap that I wolfed down without even slowing down to taste the food.

Face it. Obese people gorge on food. How else do they maintain their scale-tipping weights? I know because I'm one of them. And I am disgusted with myself.

I get tired of people on this board having a "momentary lack of judgment" or "just this once" mentality. It just reinforces the belief that fat people are gross and spineless.

When I committed to this WOE a little over 4 weeks ago, I committed that I would not eat anything off plan even if I am "starving." (Come on, are you really "starving"?) I promised I would not breakdown and eat bread or pasta or cake or cookies because it's there or convenient or delicious.

Every morning I look long and hard at my naked body and that's reinforcement enough for me to banish those niggling thoughts from my mind. I will not be a slave to food one more day.

IMO a bit harsh, I know I got fat when I couldn't work out anymore from an accident and couldn't move much.

For someone that has been on it 4 weeks, you seem overly judgemental on people that have been on it for many months or years that have "cheated."

We are all here for different reasons, but to lump everyone all together as gross and spineless for slipping is just wrong.

Get back to me when you are on Atkins for a few years and then tell me you never slipped once then I'll take the name callings
