  • How do you....

    How do you cope on those days when you just cant face food?

    i mean ive dealt with it today by force feeding but i was literally heaving just looking at food (okay a hangover may have something to do with that) - is there an easier way to do this? cos i know ive got to that point now where im just never hungry.

    Ive had two crappy days on eating im strugglin on the eating every so many hours even if it is just a snack...

    so yeah.. what does everyone else do on those days?

    The hangover part got my attention. Are you on the alcohol rung yet, or near it?
    I think the best thing you can do is just eat your favorite legal foods in small quantities but more often throughout the day. A few bites here and there. Make sure you get some veggies in there too.

      Well taking Ibuprofen (NOT TYLENOL) before you go to bed and drinking lots of water should help the hangover. I'm not sure what to tell you about not wanting to eat. Maybe you need to find something that doesn't turn your stomach as much. Unfortunately the usual things you use for a hangover, like crackers, aren't really available to you on this WOE.

        No lucky i'm not, but i know vodka doesnt stall me from the last time that i did Atkins so i introduced it straight after induction. wouldnt be able to do this WOE if i couldnt drink lol.

        thanks shae - i dont really get hangovers as in typical ones, i get more stomach sick rather than headaches so the painkillers dont really work.

          Hope you feel better soon! I don't get "headache" hangovers either; its always worse on my stomach than anything else. Yuck.

            I'm suffering along side you today Emma ....I find that I'm better to eat alot of small things, than 'meals' that seems to work for me. I just snack all day, and drink lots of water. I find also that fattier foods help as well, like tuna/egg salad mayo or p.butter etc.

              Aight ill remember that for next weekend lol....
              how do you get your veggies in? i usually only do like cauliflower/broccoli cheese or a salad... they aint really snacky things. cos the thought of cold cucumber sticks hittin my stomach makes me wanna throw lol

                  i puked just cleaning the fridge out! there was no way a fry up wouldve gone down

                  I am feeling a bit better thanks tho!! my friends have all gone out but i couldnt face more drinking!! Atkins makes me get drunk pretty quick and not remember what ive done!

                    Emma I feel the same way about wine. I love it and I aint gonna give it up. It might be slowing me down a bit but its not stalling me. I hope you feel better soon. The only real cure for a hangover is 24 hours.

                      Well I couldn't really face food today either, I think I've got food poisoning.

                      I made sure that I ate SOMETHING, but I didn't force myself to eat anything that would make me puke (like veggies would have. Sorry folks, but if something's going to make me hurl, I'm NOT eating it, no matter how good it is for me!). I had some fruit and almonds, some peanut butter, stuff like that. Legal foods that were calorie or nutrient-dense that I felt like I could eat. I made sure to drink as much water as I could, too.

                          I think it was a bad weekend for drinking PERIOD! I felt sick as well all day sunday...after having just wine with supper on saturday night...LOL! Ate nuts to calm the stomach back down and everything was fine...but I was really tired all day...

                            Emma, I know how the "non-hungry" feeling goes. Often for me though is being bored with what I am eating. I feel like sometimes I get in a routine. I went one day without eating anything except a little sugar free jello, until I ran across some seasoned ribs. Perhaps maybe mixing up your food choices would help.
