  • oatmeal craving... when can I have it?

    Anybody know when I could start adding oatmeal... I was eating it every morning for breakfast... I really miss it. Am not feeling so good...
    I feel achy with an awful crick in my left neck.... (went to the chiropractor yesterday... didn't help) also a few stomache cramps. I've been taking flaxseed in water as a fiber suppliment... but my stomache just feels kind of tied up in knots... I used to have Irritable Bowel syndrome... and that's what it feels like again. Have lost 12 lbs in 3.5 weeks so am happy with my progress so far... clothes feel lighter... but I feel slightly out of whack... well, more than slightly. Also, keep getting muscle cramps in my gluts and feet and back....I am taking supplements....including calcium. Tomorrow I am taking my first yoga class.... and will pay for 10 classes in June so then I will HAVE to go... maybe that will help...
    Your thoughts/ideas/advice would be appreciated.

    Pretty sure oats is rung 9 in OWL! - never been something i've really felt like eating!!

    in regards to your spasms - you need more potassium, check out your veggies, are you eating enough? avocado, spinach, tomatos, sprouts etc are high in potassium and will help you out with the spasms and probably with your low feeling.

      Yes, oats will have to wait until Rung 9 of OWL.

      Like Emma said, your potassium could be low if you're having cramps. Check your veggie intake to make sure that you're eating enough, and eating the RIGHT veggies.

        after I posted I checked the box of oatmeal i have from trader joes... 29 carbs!
        guess I had better stop thinking about oatmeal... I am off to yoga this am and hoping it helps to get me out of this funk.
        I do eat lots of veggies.... everyday.
        I have a very sensitive system I think.
        Could hardly move getting out of bed... soreness and haven't really done that much to deserve this much soreness....
        Had to make myself eat breakfast... an egg and some broccoli.
        thanks for your input, I'll let you know how the yoga goes... thats my big hope for the day... if that doesn't help I'm getting a massage!!!

          Some people make a sort of cereal using ground flax (linseed in UK).
