Hi All,
This is my first post on the board. I've been reading them for a little bit now, and I'm finally taking the plunge and starting this diet tomorrow. I have done the calorie counting and writing in a food journal, but it doesn't work for me. I never seem to lose more than five pounds. Also, having to write everything down all the time makes me obsess about food when I never did before! Writing everything and being conscious of eating and thinking about it all the time drove me mad and eventually to quit. So, I figure if I keep doing the same thing expecting different results - I must be crazy. My birthday was yesterday, and it's the best time to make a resolution, I think. Now I'm going to try Atkins. I admit I am HUGELY picky eater so that's why I liked the counting calories at first. I like hot dogs, but I read that you shouldn't eat them. Has anyone ever eaten the Hebrew National hot dogs? I always thought they were a little better for you. Also, if something has nitrates how can you tell? And what about things like corned beef? Are those off limits all the time? Or just during induction?
Sorry for the extremely long post. Thanks for all the help,
Alissa
