          Re: Shirartaki Noodles

My husband loves these, probably because they are the only thing that resemble pasta that I've cooked in ages. We had them in a Thai Seafood Curry. Sorry Emma and Silly, you wouldn't have liked it. lol

UUUrrrgh, they must be an aquired taste, because my stomach heaved when I first smelt them!! And after cooking, I can't describe the sensation of them sliding down my throat ........ Never again.

                Re: Shirartaki Noodles

Has anyone ever woked them up or skilleted them. I use to take ramen noodles and cook them first, then throw chicken, veggies and a boulion cube in a wok and then add the noodles to the mix and cook it longer so the noodles get cooked out of water.

I believe you can skillet or wok tofu so does it do anything?

Can someone tell me if this would be an acceptable food during induction? Im getting ready to start on Sunday and will be grocery shopping tomorrow.

                  Thanks

                    YES!

The other day, I sauteed some zucchini, yellow squash, blk olives, garlic in a little butter. Added some shrimp to the pan. I then added 1 tbsp of Hunts no sugar added spaghetti sauce and threw in my Shirataki noodles - WAS SO GOOD!!
Maybe it's just me, but I think cooking the noodles this way might have helped get rid of the fishy taste/smell. (I did rinse them off beforehand also.)

                    Good luck!

I would tell you to open them and just smell them, but since they smell like dead fish even when they ARE fresh, that won't help....

The smell really does disappear, and if you wash and precook 2-3 minutes, you'd never know it was the same product.
