  • What is your opinion of fitday?

I'm torn on using it or not. I never used it when I lost previously. I honestly didn't even count every carb I guess-timated. I have tried using fitday on and off the last year but it gets so compulsive. I worry when I see the cals etc and get in diet mode.
Any succesful "losers" here who don't use it?

My three main tools are DANDR, Fitday and Fittogether. Seeing the calories, sometimes I get freaked out but then I just remember what the book says. I saw where there was a site better than Fitday but now I cant find the post.

I only use it to figure carb counts for recipes I adapt or make up.

Otherwise, I kept track of my carbs using a carb counter and a notebook.

I'm not a successful loser, per se, but I have lost 20lbs. I don't use fitday on a daily basis. It drives me insane. It's tedious and time consuming. I don't have time. I tend to eat the same veggies over and over and over again, so I know how many carbs I'm taking in.
I use fitday to look up stuff I'm not sure about, like cabbage or jicama.
I think most people here recommend using it. Once I move onto OWL I think I am going to use fitday because I'll have to keep track more carefully.

Re: What is your opinion of fitday?

I used fitday daily until I felt like i had a good handle on the carbs and amounts of food i was losing. Now about once a week or so I will plug in a few days just to make sure i am on track. But I meainly eat the same food so I dont ever really really unless i want to try something new and then I plug it in fitday first to play with my menu.

That why I'm so scared to move onto OWL! What if I lose track, but I have to move on at some point. Thanks for the advice, Disco.

I only use it when I have a stall to make sure I'm getting the right % and 99 times out of 100 I am. It's really time consuming putting all the info into it and anything that takes too long is a huge turn off for me.

Re: What is your opinion of fitday?

to me, fitday is important and I have to make time for it. We all have certain staples in our lives, if you just take some time and get all of the staples entered they will be there at your fingertips on the recent list and the custom list. The less time and thought I give this woe, the less success I have. You do get to a point where you know how much you can have of what but anytime you add something new be sure and keep track a few days, I have needed to review my menus to see what may have caused a gain or a stall.

Maybe thats what I'll do is like a few suggested and run a few things through fitday until I'm sure where I'm at. I assume the protein power carb counting book I have will work ok too(it subtracts fiber). Thanks for taking the time to share your opinions with me!

Yes, it takes way to much time. And it seems like I have trouble finding the simplist food. I want to find a scrambled egg. Things pop up like egg with spinach, egg custard, where's a plain egg?! To much confusion. About the only time I'll go there is to find out the carb or calorie count of a new food. But like most of you, I tend to eat the same things everyday so I know what I'm taking in.

                            LOL
                            A plain egg is
                            'egg, whole, raw'
then add whatever butter or oil you used!
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
