Re: To lose 125 lb in one year

I average out to 2.25 pounds a week at 13 months so I can easily see it happening. BUT I started at 334 pounds so my percentage lost is 35%. To have lost 48% I'd have to have lost 43 more pounds then I have. The thing is, I've worked pretty hard, but to be honest I know i could have done more exercise safely as well as not had the food slip ups I've had. If I had truely done all I could, and done it perfectly, I think I could very well have safely hit that mark.

The thing is I imagine if you found a lot of people that did lose that much, and looked at their diet and exercise, then a higher then average percentage of them probably wouldn't be doing it in a healthy way. SO it's hard to say.

What's healthier, to lose 126lbs in a year or not to lose it? As long as you are not losing muscle mass and getting proper nutrition, I think that it's safe. There is 126lbs less wieght. Her body is carry around less wieght, her heart isn't working so hard.

Thank you all...Brook is right, I lost it but didnt keep it off and while losing I was jogging every day and got to 7 miles non stop and could do a 7 minute mile...weight lifting alternating upper workout with lower with a trainer and absolutely SORE most of the time..a good sore but taxing on my body ( I now have degenerative, advanced osteoarthritis in my knees and had to have recent surgery, 80 year old knees on a 40 yr old body )... and time not spent with my child (in retrospect).
I was very toned and clothes for the first time look awesome on me... I was trying to get healthy to be a better mom but from what I am hearing now from my 17 year old teen, I wasnt "there" for her enough and that saddens to me no end and if I had realized that at the time I would have done things so much differant...I am quite competitive with myself and strive to be the best but if that inflicts on the opposite of what I am trying to accomplish...well...not so good...being heavy for most of my life and losing that quick changed me... I had incredible zeal and enthusiasm, confidence and self love...single mother working and doing it all...I deserved to be healthy, BUT the loss so quickly wasnt in the end the best thing for me because I regained alot ...couldnt keep the regimen up and "life" happened...my dad was dying/and passed away from cancer and my wedding date fell apart 3 days prior the big day (THANK GOD I now realize) anyhow, it had been a tulmutous time...so I am back in the saddle, determined to take things slower and enjoy the man of my dreams who is now my man of reality ( 1 year anniversary this Nov.)...my kiddo...well the teens are as you know "interesting" but we are very close and I have the here and now to be here for her and I am...I appreciate this board and so many wonderful people and inspiration and understanding! Good luck to you all in your endeavors to take control and do something good for yourself...we all deserve to be healthy.
