The quick answer to that is 'No' you must be thinking of some other diet!!

It is amazing how many myths there are about Dr Atkins death

Good job though, Daione, showing them in person how well Atkins works

Wow, tell me about it! This is the hardest time of year for staying on track. All the holidays bring temptations and the weather is colder (all I want to do is hibernate). So everybody stay strong, keeping your goal in sight and keep exercising. New year is coming and let's welcome in a healthier lifestyle!

            Re: Atkinites: Week of Christmas

Just tested my ketosis this morning.. The strip matched the 80 mark color, which is "Large". This is for sure good, it means that I am on the right track and somehow deep into ketosis.

Work was really quite yesterday, almost no body in the office, but I still had to go to take care of few things, so didn't get the chance to get some exercise yesterday especially with all the rain going. Planning to use this weekend and catchup ..

Where are the others in the forum? I guess may be they are busy with the holidays. The forums been quite for sometime as well.

            Happy new year to yall.

              Re: Atkinites: Week of Christmas

              Heya everyone. =)

It sure feels nice to be at home and eating the right kinds of food and not having to spend any money. -.- No, I didn't cheat. I'm still in ketosis! =) I had lots of veggies yesterday along with some protein and of course fat. =P I marinated some steaks before I left yesterday and oooooh....they are going to be so delicious when I cook them up today, let me tell ya. Eat them with garlic butter along with an artichoke and I am all set for the day.

I feel like I am getting a lot more energy and that's good. I'm going to Utah with my best friend on a few weeks and I told him that I don't feel so tired and boring anymore, that I actually think I can be more active when we go. Hey, maybe I'll learn how to ski cause I have always wanted to learn.

wOOt on that. Anyway, It does feel empty here now during the holidays, but it is understandable since everyone wants to be with their families. =) ow is everyone doing today? I think I am going to take a nap since I didnt get to sleep all that much last night. I could have sworn I was having a pneumothorax on my left lung, it was horrible. Then I realized I pulled either my scalaneous muscle or serratus ventralis muscle, or maybe my pectoralis major muscle. It hurt. =( And I couldn't sleep.

I'll catch you all later! Keep up the great work and be sure to drink your water and eat those veggies. num nums! Can't wait til I weigh and measure on Wednesday. =)

                Re: Atkinites: Week of Christmas

First off..... CONGRATS to Einy for making his first victory!! =) You totally rock man for sticking it to the man and staying with us for these past 45 days. =) Great job. You totally deserve to celebrate.

This thread seems so....empty. It makes me really sad that not a lot of people have posted on here for the past week. I guess it might have something to do with the holidays. I am pretty worried about Kristen since I did read a post from her yesterday. My thoughts and prayers go out to her and hoping that she is doing well with restarting. And Brian. I sent him a message and he hasn't replied to me yet, so I don't know where he is at either. I hope he's okay too.

As for the rest of us, we are doing pretty good and I can't be any happier with the results that we have gotten so far. =) I actually am so tempted to jump on the scale tomorrow to see how much, but it might just still be the same weight as I was before I cheated. Hmmm, I don't know. Today is my 5th day being cheatfree and that's quite an accomplishment. I have been adding more fiber to my diet and it works wonders for me in the morning. Yes, I make flaxmeal cookies and all that jazz. Today, I made a Jicama Bread that I got the recipe from here. I only eat like 1/16th of it, so it shouldn't mess me up too bad. My ketstix tell me that I am still in ketosis. =)

The one thing that I honestly hate is not being able to use the restroom, you know? Its the most uncomfy feeling and the flaxmeal will help me out a lot.

Anyway, I need to post in my journal. I'll catch you all later. And once again, congrats Einy.

And don't be shy to post your pic. I bet you're a handsome devil.

                    Re: Atkinites: Week of Christmas

                    Yep,

That is the main reason why I am going is to get away from my family. My dad's resounding, booming voice in my ear is a bit too much for me sometimes. It just makes me wish that I didn't have to be home and move out, all that jazz. The funny thing is, is that my mom wants us to move out, yet we don't have the resources for it. If I could just sit down with them and tell them if they paid for me to move out and actually get on my feet, I will pay them back when I actually make a decent amount of money. I am the only one they can rely on actually paying them back, because I do. Heh, that's my dream world.

And yes, I'm bringing my laptop so I can post on here every day and let you guys know I'm doing okay. I'm leaving on the 14th and coming back the 17th. =P Wee, by that time I am sure I will be under 200 pounds! wOOt wOOt. =)

Took another sneak peak on the scale and I am down to 206. =) Yayness!!! That means I have another two pounds to go to get back to what I originally was. My ketostix doesn't show that I am in ketosis, but I think thats because I had a bit too much water yesterday. =)

And you're right Einy, lets hope they come back soon.

Chat with you all later! Muahz! I got work to go to.

All by....myself.... Don't wanna be.... all by...Myself!!! -cries-

Okay, whew, ya, thats what it feels like. It's like I am stuck in this empty hole where I have voices in my head and all that jazz. It's strange that I'm the only one posting. Omg, what on Earth man?

I did good today. =) And Ihave also come to the conclusion that everyone that I work with has fake personalities. It's really sad to see it, but whatever. At least all the people I worked with at Vons actually were good at hiding it, but damn, these people don't know how to hide their fakeness, its really sad. I don't like anyone that I work with, they bug the **** out of me. Lol.

Umm, I think I will stop by the gym tomorrow morning before I go to work since I have to time to. =) MMm mmm ya. 1 mile on the tread mill. Yep. I think I'll shoot for 20 miles this month since its going to be hard for me to get used to walking fast and stuff. I do walk a lot at work, so that will make up for it too. =)

Anyway, post you guys, I really miss you!!!

                        Re: Atkinites: Week of Christmas

I had also noticed how quiet the thread is and I can only assume that as with all things, life gets in the way and before we know it too much time has passed.
I am still dropping by occasionally, probably not as much as I should tho.
I try not to be here everyday otherwise I feel my whole life is dictated by Atkins and it shouldn't be that way it is a WOL not the only thing I have to live for. I like the support and friendship here, but I need to prioritise and keep things in perspective. I will keep posting on 'our' thread (that is how I've come to think of it) and say hi but for now I am keeping to plan, (the eating plan) and dealing with life.
Hope you all have a good new year.

                          Re: Atkinites: Week of Christmas

Very understandable Inky. As long as I know that you're still with us, that's all that matters. Life is far more important to deal with than having to come on here, but it does give us a little boost of confidence and inspiration to go on. That's the way that I see it. I need at least my daily dose of this board to keep moving on and keep getting inspired. There are always new and intersting posts that can be read on this board and I try to look at one each day to inspire me. =) A very happy new year to you too sweetie, hope you enjoy it with your family and friends.

A very good morning to all of you. Its going to be another windy day, so you know what that means... balloons being tangled and I have to take care of them because otherwise they won't sell. =( And we have to sell them cause it's New Years Eve and the Rose Bowl is tomorrow. Oy vey. I hate the design of the store. Its ridiculous.

I'm doing pretty good. I have a lot more energy now. I think I am going to go for a walk around the neighborhood with my dog before I eat breakfast and see how I feel afterwards. I don't feel like going to the gym today (I start work in a few hours, I think thats why...) , but I will stop on by it tomorrow morning, though. =) Happiness.

I hope each and everyone of you have a HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

                          Muahz.
