I didn't get one, Emma! Yes, I checked my trash can and spam file.

Here, maybe this will cheer you up and dry your tears!

remember, your provider's might have blocked it thinking it was bad spam or it could have gone straight to your junk mail.
I always check my spam file and trash first thing every morning. All the trash/spam/male parts enlargement ads come to my regular mailbox and the good stuff ends up in the deleted items folder! Everything I send myself a copy of gets marked spam and gets deposited in the spam file! Grrrrr Like I would spam myself.

Re: How come I got this email

Hi, all. Found this thread after also getting a mystery email from Tom. I figured it was because I have been MIA for months. After seeing all these posts of "what the...?" I have my own theory. If it was time to adjust ad rates for the site it would be pretty smart to send out an email that would get everyone to check in on the site and get a few "spikes" in the traffic. But maybe that's just cynical ol' me.

I assumed it was something like that but Kate58 said that she got one of the emails too. She is here all the time so I started thinking what else it might be.

You can find them at the very bottom of the forums pages under 'offsite links' he has a general low carb board and a south beach one as well.

Sunny, when you copy yourself in an email, do you have any links to websites etc in the signature of your email your sending from? Alot of spam filters not only filter emails with certain words, but they will also filter emails with links as alot of spam contains links to sites.

I don't have any links usually. It is just Verizon's stupid spam filter. I've had to put my whole family and business connections on their 'white list' and then I had to put myself on the white list, but it still dumps my email in the deleted items folder. Most of my family, too. Tech support has been no help. Never does it dump real spam in the deleted items folder. I accused them of selling my e-address to the spammers.

Sunny, try going to the bottom of this page, on the blue bar that starts with Contact us, hit Archive, when that comes up on the bottom of the list it says
                            Offsite Links.

I got one of them emails too and honestly with soo much tom-foolery (no pun intended) going on over the internet I just automatically ignore anything asking me to login anywhere. I figure I do post often enough.
