  • RanchBlue Cheese Dressing without sugar?

I see a lot of people list 'ranch dressing' in their menus and the like, and while I see plenty of ranch with very low carbs (some even listed at 0 carbs per serving), they *ALL* Have sugar in them.

Are you folks making your own? Or just going with the carb count on the label?

There probably isn't enough sugar in them to cause any kind of insulin response in your body, I'm just trying to be clean... zero sugar during induction.

    I like Marie's brand dressings http://www.mariesdressings.com/products.aspx?catID=1

They are usually in the produce refrigerated section instead of with the rest of the salad dressings. They don't have added sugar in the ingredients.

I could have sworn my wife and I looked at all of those last night and every one of them had "sugar" listed in the ingredient list. I'm going to have to go back to Fred Meyer's tonight and look again.

Re: RanchBlue Cheese Dressing without sugar?

I'm just very careful with my servings. Just because it says "1 carb" on the label, doesn't give me licence to use half the bottle on a two cup salad. I've never had a problem with it giving me cravings or messing with my sugar that I know of.
The difference between 'involvement' and 'commitment' is like an eggs-and-ham breakfast:
the chicken was 'involved' - the pig was 'committed'.

I just looked at mine (I have the Creamy Italian Garlic)

          Here is the nutrition info:
          • Serving Size 2 Tbsp (28g)
          • Servings Per Container
            • 12 oz.: About 12
          • Calories 180
          • Fat Cal 170
          Amount/Serving% Daily Value *Amount/Serving% Daily Value *Total Fat 19g29%Total Carbohydrates 1g0%Saturated Fat 3g15%Dietary Fiber 0g0%Trans Fat 0gSugars 0gCholesterol 15mg5%Protein 1gSodium 135mg6%Vitamin A 0% *Vitamin C 0% *Calcium 0% *Iron 0% *

The ingredients are: Soybean oil, cultured nonfat buttermilk, sour cream, whole egg, water, egg yolks, contains less than 2% of distilled vinegar, salt, spices, garlic, onion, xanthan gum.

Their website gives the carb count, but not the ingredients. Don't confuse "sugars" in the nutrition facts section from what is in the ingredient list. There are some natural sugars in milk based products (like these). As long as sugar, corn syrup, food starch, high fructose corn syrup aren't listed in the ingredients, you should be okay.

Re: RanchBlue Cheese Dressing without sugar?

Thanks ValidRogue, There's no confusion in my head about "sugars" in the nutritional info and "sugar" in the ingredients, I just haven't found a ranch dressing yet without "sugar" being listed, and I do love me some ranch.

I'm going to go check their dressings again tonight on my way home from work... which should be about... NOW!

              Okay, just making sure!

At the very least, give the Creamy Italian Garlic a try. It's REALLY yummy.

I think Litehouse brand doesn't have sugar in their southwest ranch dressing.
