I'm experimenting... making something different today for a side dish: Puntarelle salad. It's a labour of love because you have to trim chickory stalks like matchsticks, and then soak them in freezing water (with ice cubes) to make them curl. The dressing is tip top extra virgin olive oil, vinegar, garlic and anchovy paste. It's a salad that needs marinading for a while before eating. Deeeelish (though I've never made it myself).
We too always eat at the table and not in front of the TV. Makes the meal much more of a family get together.
