Re: Myoplex/EAS Low Carb Protein Shakes?

I drank the EAS Carb Control shakes during induction and OWL with no problem at all. I loved the chocolate ones the best.

I do like tofu, Julie. For me, it's kind of like eggs - takes on the flavor of whatever you add to it. Good option for the weekends.

Betty, you have the perfect figure and are an inspiration. If you were happy with shakes, I consider that the perfect seal of approval. Now if only I could do the marathons.

Oh girlfriend, thank you!! Marathons are grueling, brutal masochistical tests of torture....but when you're an insane runner, ya do 'em anyhow!

I was a devoted runner for years with a 35 - 49 mile a week habit, but an old injury turned into patello-femoral syndrome, and my joints relaxing with two pregnancies made it worse. I miss running terribly and am so jealous of people whose bodies don't poop out on them. Keep it up, and I will enjoy it vicariously.

Oh girl ! That sounds DREADFUL. My biggest fear is that I will end up injured somehow and have to give up running. I think at that point I'll tell DH to take me out and shoot me! Seriously ... I guess that's why I run so slow, because I hope it somehow extends my running career. Starting to run at age 46 is crazy anyhow, I suppose, but pushing beyond my limits would be alot crazier, right? I was never fast when I was a kid, so I'm not about to kill myself now .. if I can run slower, more carefully, and not get injured, I hope to still be out there when I'm 80! Maybe by then, I'll outlive my competition and actually finish a race with a trophy someday!

Sooooo - I've been reading this and how has it gone for you? I love my protein shakes (need to order more powder - cookies & cream from isopure 0 carbs - YUMMY mixed with unsweetened soy milk which only has 1 carb!) and use it as a dessert as well as a meal sometimes...

I just discovered a new lc shake last week, called 'ISOfemme' http://www.isofemme.com/

It's not nearly as thick as the shakes i'm used it..it's actually like drinking a glass of vanilla milk (it's made with real vanilla beans too). I like it as a change from my usual thick shakes. and it had a decent price too: 21.99

Things were great until the weekend. Sunday was a family celebration and unfortunately I had too much food and too many carbs. I was happy with the shakes and they really did replace meals successfully. My only issue is that they are sweet. Ironically, when I am hungry, I crave savory so I have to have something else with them, a piece of cheese or slice of ham, to actually make me feel like I have had a meal, not a dessert. Probably why SlimFast never worked for me - can't do all that sweet stuff.
