    Cheri, You can have other things besides water it's just that water really is the best thing for you. I usually have a cup of decaf tea a day with no milk and no sugar. You can have decaf coffee, too. The key really is just moderation. You can have a cup of coffee, but don't have 5 cups of coffee! You can even have a glass of diet coke if you want (but the problem is that I can never keep a small glass from turning into the whole bottle!). I know a lot of people here recommend DietRite (soda with no caffeine sweetened with Splenda I believe) but depending on where you live you might not be able to get it. I know it sounds drastic to cut out everything but water (and like I said, you really don't have to give up everything but water) but I promise you that if you do start drinking mostly water you will feel better than the diet coke ever made you feel! If you are having a really hard time with it just start slowly cutting back other drinks more and more each day or week and replacing them with water.

        Too much salt? You will retain if your sodium intake is high....from bacon, processed foods, and salt you add to your food directly....
