Re: After Cheats....
I haven't really cheated but when I haven't eaten as cleanly as I could have or I haven't eaten enough, I like to eat quite a bit and make it like 70% fat. I make sure I get 1/2 an avocado and some good meat. I love carne asada grilled or have some shrimp. One of my favorites I get from Trader Joe's and cook it myself. It is a salmon steak stuffed with feta cheese and spinach. Delish! If you treat yourself like this, you will wonder why you ever cheated.

Re: After Cheats....
I want to amend something I said "I haven't really cheated" I haven't really cheated this time. Meaning since January. I half assed the diet before and fell off eventually. Cheating was just too easy. I have been doing well since January though!

Boiled eggs with mayo is really filling and crave taming.People who say it can't be done, should not interrupt those doing it.

Re: After Cheats....
I LOVE Quiche - and am pretty strict about "scraping it out" of its shell.Originally posted by IrishMom82Pretty much anything that is legal. I know it's ok to eat and I feel so much better about myself knowing I'm eating what's right. Ham is always good. My new thing is quiche..tasty.
I went for the Tuna route (and some pizza tops for dinner w/kids).
Seems to do the trick. Thought I swallowed an Atkisn shake. I know those have a mixed reputation but I find them useful.THINKER!!

Re: After Cheats....
I try to determine what exactly it is I want, based on what I'm craving. For example, if I'm craving potato chips, I'm wanting something salty and crunchy. I make those cheese crisp crackers in the microwave (the taste just like Pepperidge Farm Goldfish) and 16 pieces are 1 carb. Or if I crave ice cream, it's something sweet, smooth and cold I really want, so cream cheese flavored with a little cinnamon helps that. Want a rootbeer float? Waist Watcher's (sweetned with splenda) root beer with a tbsp of heavy cream on top. Want something cold cruncy and creamy? A celery stalk stuffed with some cream cheese.
If you can isolate the craving and identify the actual characteristic of that food, you can find substitues that are perfectly legal.

Good suggestion

Re: After Cheats....
another good idea if you "Cheat" make sure to get in a really good workout to help burn off any glycogen stored from the cheat foods. That's what i have to do today....I cheated yesterday and today
a good workout followed by something fatty and lots of water will hopefully get me back on track.

I actually opted for light eating (Small Omellette for Bkfast; Can of Tuna, Lettuce, May mixed for lunch) followed by a Rib Eye for dinner. Cut way back on my normal caffeine and drank lots of water & tea.
Boy - if you ever doubt the carb-effect - a post cheat morning yields that incredible fuzzy-headed feeling. Wow! I'd forgotten about that.
The hard part is waiting the days to burn the stuff off.
Thanks for all!

Re: After Cheats....
The only way I can deal with a cheat is not to do it. I know from past experience if I cheat, it will set me off on a whole string of them.
"Ok I've already ruined the diet today so I might as well eat what I want and restart tomorrow" "Well heck, I've ruined it for the weekend, so I might as well restart Monday". "OH since I wasn't on the diet yesterday, I made that good lasagna, we might as well finish it up before I restart..."
and so on. This is just my experience though YMMV
