of zero carbs things? I can eat 2 bags of pork grinds in a day and it doesn't matter?

Well of course I would never do that. But just theoretically. I did buy the book.
It's on it's way...cant wait to read it.
I just keep reading that you dont need to count calories.
But what does that exactly mean?

Well, you need to stay below 20 carbs a day, during induction anyway, and pork rinds have to have SOME carbs, don't they - I don't know because I HATE HATE HATE HATE them! =) Also, you should be getting the majority of your carbs from veggies. Otherwise, you just eat and eat. - the "catch" is that you lose your appetite and don't want any food.

No you still need to watch what you're eating. When you are in Induction you want your food to end up 65% fat, 5% carbs, 30% protein. If you eat 2 bags of pork rinds in 1 day I can bet you money you'll be way over your percentages because they are FULL of fat.
Atkins isn't about eating as much as you want. You still want to watch your portion controls. You also want to eat until you are satisfied not stuffed.
In regards to calories, you don't need to count them but you do need to make sure you're eating enough. If you aren't consuming at least your BMR then your body will go into starvation mode. Hope that helps!

Dr. Atkins didn't say "calories don't count", but that you don't have to count calories. He also said we are to eat until satisfied, not stuffed (like IrishMom said). He said we are not to gorge ourselves.
I'm not sure how long you've been doing Atkins, but my appetite was much greater at the beginning than it is now. When you are hungry you should eat. It still amazes me that I can eat when I'm hungry, not deprive myself, and still lose weight. That's the magic of a ketogenic diet.
Enjoy all the scrumptious things you can eat on Atkins!
Pork rinds drizzled with butter and sprinkled with cinnamon and spenda are a yummy treat!

Pork rinds are just meat and fat. So they shouldn't have any carbs. Some folks have issues with the salt but I never have.My doctor told me to stop having intimate dinners for four. Unless there are three other people.

I should look into the health aspect/quality of the fat in pork rinds. I'm trying to eat a 'healthier' fat these days and that includes pastured lard. I'm trying to visualize the advertisement for 'organic, free range rinds'. Quite the contradiction in conventional wisdom.

Well the way i understood it is that you can eat as much as you want as long as you stay within your carb range. But i think the idea is that you learn good eatting habbits. So learning which foods are good for you and which foods arn't, also learning how much food you really need.. So to me .. two bags of anything isnt really a healthy way of eatting (i know you just used that as an example, but you know what i mean)
Id say stick to a meal plan, like breakfast, lunch and dinner and a couple of snacks. See how that goes .. for me some days i have a bigger appitite then others.. so i eat less or more depending. It actually seems like i loose my appitite when i eat this way ..

It means I can eat when I want as long as I'm hungry. I can't just eat protein and fat all day long, and expect to lose weight. Well, if you are going to binge on something I guess that would be better than a bag of regular chips. I still would not do it on a regular basis, but if your choices are pork rinds or something way out of the plan range then I woud probably go with the pork rinds. But, I am not sure how anyone could eat too many of them as after I eat two or three I am about to choke to death. Never eat them without a drink close by..LOL
Check your labels too I have a bag that has 3 carbs. per serving. Anyways, I wish you all the best.
