Re: Help, I don't want to quit..

You know, this is getting out of hand. You can lead a horse to water, but....
Don't get mad at us here for following DANDR, that is what this site is all about. You might as well go to a Vegan website and ask for advice on how to cook a steak, then get upset when they tell you they don't eat meat!! You don't want another site, and I think its because you are getting attention here. Well, it stops from me. Like I said before, I hope you get whatever it is you are looking for.
Try to get 80-100 ounces a day!

Whether you think you can, or you think you can't, you're right.

I've heard of Carb Cycling, its just not Atkins. It's the "Atkins Diet Bulletin Board" which is why it was suggested that you try another board for other opinions.

Seeing a doctor is a recommendation that is by the book. The book gives a list of acceptable foods for induction, and the percentages the food you eat should equal. People here are trying to help and you're not really accepting our thoughts even though you asked for them since someone who's had years of experience has said carb cycling works. I've had years of experience too, and I'm saying, it doesn't work in the long run. The more times you cycle, the harder it is to lose the weight.

It took me about umm 5 months to lose 80lbs... after rebounding and "carb cycling", it took me about 2 (i think that's right, maybe a little more?) years of being a good girl to lose 140lbs. Think about it.

I'm sorry and I know this isn't what you want to hear, but if you don't want to cheat, there's no reason to. If you don't have the urge to cheat, just go to the doctor the next time it happens and ask for an opinion. It's the healthiest option.

Just a thought, but perhaps we should just stop baiting the original poster? It would seem that they are seeking attention rather than help and usually when you ignore them they tend to stop...

Just a thought that I've seen work in many other posts.

I'm not playing it, like i said i knew what i was in for.. it just saddens me to know some of these post would have been made to an unexpecting person...
I haven't shot one thing of untried advice down...

See posts like that last sentence sicken me, what if i didn't know what i was in for and came here for help.. please use some common sense...

Let me just say umm the post you keep harping on about 2 days of bloat relief, i went 5 weeks without a carb reload that's why i only got 2 days from bloat,...and am sitting here partially bloated waiting for tom as i type lol..... and please act like you've heard of carb cycling and that it does work for some people and that when i'm forced to carb load once a month for sake of bloat that it could be having a carb cycle effect on me.. why would you tell someone to go off plan and just eat junk as if you dont know its the combination of the two... i'm sure it was said with tongue in cheek(at least i hope it was) but still..smh...
yes. said with tongue in cheek. I've heard of carb-loading. Not on atkins, but for body building and strength training programs.

well if you went to a vegan website, and said "sometimes i get sick and cure it with steak" they'd probably say that you aren't really a vegan.

which is why when you said you cure your bloat with carbs, people said you're not really on atkins.

I don't know why you take such offense to that, it's not a personal attack, it's a fact. and I don't know what "smh" means.

and the vegan analogy was just that, an analogy.

Re: Help, I don't want to quit..

                  OK here I go....

First, if you are coming here asking for "comments and opinions" Why the heck are you getting so defensive and down right rude/insulting to members here? People are trying to give you advice on how to succeed with this way of life. They know what they are talking about! If you don't agree with their knowledge and experiences then fine but you don't have to be so rude and defensive about it.

Second, alright so "carb loading", if that's what you want to call it, seems to be working for you. Here's my question: why are you "carb loading" with all sorts of CRAP? That stuff you're "carb loading" with got you to where you are now in the first place. If you feel the need to "carb load" then why don't you "carb load" with HEALTHY carbs? Why does it have to be pancakes, potato chips, bread, etc.? Why can't it be something that's from higher up in the OWL rungs like from RUNG 4 (since you mentioned wanting to eat veggies more) like Carrots, or Peas? Or eat more fatty foods?

Third, how about instead of "carb loading" you try more excercise? Instead of 3 days a week do it 5. Instead of just a treadmill try some serious cardio and strength training?

Fourth, GO SEE A DOCTOR!!!!!!! Several members have suggested you go to a doctor and figure out what's going on. It's not normal! I can respect that you don't want to go into details about doctor visit's etc. but you can at least enlighten us with the fact that you have seen one or not. We're no medical experts. Your situation sounds more serious thant just retaining water because of TOM. Sure other people have said that but maybe they have a condition and didn't mention it. Do you know if they went to a doctor? EVERYONE is different. Just cause someone is experiencing what you are does not mean everything is ok with you body. It is highly important that you see a doctor.

Finally, I hope you find what you are looking for. Everyone deserves to be healthy. I'm sorry you're having such a hard time with everyone. I wish you the best.

The fact of the matter is you are NOT following Atkins. Just admit that you're not following ATKINS.. You are following "Oh My Gosh"'s plan. If it works for you fine, but don't call it ATKINS. That's what everyone is saying.

WoW 5 months lol now i'm having second thoughts about stopping carb loads lol maybe they are the answer lol J/k

I will say that maybe i do not have to wait till tom is over to reload, i've only had one glass of juice today with breakfast and have used the bathroom 4 times and just jumped on the scale and am down other pound that's 4 pounds... from eating carbs.. maybe i can stop the water before it comes... maybe this fluke(me going off plan early) was meant to happen so now i can see how to prevent the water before it really gets started.. i'm so happy to be soundly in the 230's again...

look, by saying you're on atkins again in this last post, right after irishmom told you to stop referring to it as atkins is proof that you're just trying to piss people off and that you enjoy it, hence the "lol".

and you were rude to people, you joked about lyssie's 80 pound weight loss when she was just trying to help. I think people take health and weight loss more seriously around here than you, and you find it amusing.

I edited my comment before i saw yours i found that little banter very childish as well...

I did not joke about her 80 pound loss, i said it very tongue in cheek like oh really how long did it take give me all the info on that, i wanna try that ASAP.. i was joking about myself...smh

                            smh mean shaking my head...

And me commenting has nothing to do with trying to piss people off... or being childish just trying to reiterate what plan i'm on and that it's not so one tracked as some define it, even to the owners of said plan...if it pisses you off that has nothing to do with me...

and the lol after irish mom was because i was laughing at the ridiculousness of it all, that i responded and how hilarious and childish it all was... if i lol it's because of something i do...it's at my expense...

                              How to Relieve Bloating

apparently cabbage and cauliflower can cause bloating in some, as well as food allergies. maybe info in this link will help with your problem.

Re: Help, I don't want to quit..

Look.... Your "cheat days" aren't helping the scale move, right?? obviously what you're doing isn't going to work. Come on, eating orange chicken and not thinking you're consuming a load of sugar? Give me a freaking break....

If you don't like the advice you're given here, go somewhere else. You are on a board that deals with individuals looking for support while following the SAME PLAN - ATKINS... Whatever you're doing is not working, you're bloated, you eat crap somedays to help the bloat - how the heck does that make any sense at all?

I hope you find the answers you're looking for, or rather the answers you'll accept. Unfortunately, I don't think you're going to find them here. Best of luck to you.
