I saw Diet Coke made with Splenda at the grocery store. It wasn't in my budget this week, but I will definitely be trying next week. Has anyone else tried this?

Re: Diet Coke with Splenda
No, but I have tried Diet Rite. It is made with Splenda. It is very good and is made in multiple flavors, but I refrain from drinking it anymore. It just prolongs my sweet tooth cravings.Nick

Re: Diet Coke with Splenda
Diet Coke is my last addiction. I've not had problems with it causing sweet cravings, but believe me if my weight loss stalls it will be the first thing to GO!

Re: Diet Coke with Splenda
Thanks, Valleriek. I'm going to try the Aquafina Flavor Splash. I do need a change of pace and I do get tired of plain water. I'll just have to try to keep the kids out of it or I won't get any!
Jessie-leigh, I don't know which is more important for the diet. I'm sure the correct answer is to have neither! I wonder why they can't get it right and make a caffeine-free diet coke with splenda?

Re: Diet Coke with Splenda
I haven't seen the Diet Coke with Splenda yet. I have tried Diet Rite and it is ok. I don't know if you have a Publix Grocery Store where you live but they do sell their own brand of Soda's and the diet ones are sweetened with Splenda..... I am so hooked on Diet Coke it's hard for me to drink the Splenda sweetened ones.....they just seem so sweet. But it's worth a try if you have a Publix....I think they come both in regular diet and caffeine free diet! Check it out....

Re: Diet Coke with Splenda
We don't have a Puplix here. I too am addicted to diet coke. But I have a plan. I am going to buy some of the flavored water that valleriek suggested and I am going to have 1 water (flavored or plain) after every diet coke I drink. That should cut me down by half. Then I will cut it again until I can get off the diet coke. Wish me luck!

Re: Diet Coke with Splenda
Keep in mind Treece that you are only allowed 3 sweeteners a day so every flavored water or diet coke with splenda you drink counts as one. Also, as far as your water intake goes, the only thing that counts as water is pure water so you should try and drink 8 glasses of that in addition to the flavored water and soda:
I used to be a huge soda junkie myself (10 a day or more) so I know its hard but this diet really changes your taste buds. Once you start drinking water regularly you will find that you crave it. Also, if you still find yourself craving soda, try flavored seltzer. Its unsweetened and the lemon lime kind tastes like sprite to me. Good luck!Vanessa

Re: Diet Coke with Splenda
OOH! The seltzer water sounds like a really good idea. I'll look for that at the store. I know I can't go cold-turkey on the diet coke so I'll be cutting down a little at a time. I'll get there.
Thanks!

Re: Diet Coke with Splenda
Diet coke is my favorite beverage! I am so addicted. I too need to cut down on it and try to just cut it all out...
A while back on tv I saw an interview with Richard Simmons (the guys from years ago with the videos who wore the tiny little shorts) well he claimed that he gave up diet cokes and lost 10 lbs........... he claimed it was due to all the chemicals and stuff in it.....wonder if this is true? Probably so.

Re: Diet Coke with Splenda
I'm not sure how stopping the diet coke would make a person lose weight. I personally see no logic in that. Yet I saw a post from someone here who did quit the diet coke and lost weight.
I remember Richard Simmons! I agree diet coke has chemicals that are not needed by the body and may be harmful. I had a doctor tell me that you would have to drink about 100 a day every day to cause your body any harm.
