What are your non-traditional goals?

    1. Join Judo with my husband and judo throw his 6'1 butt (okay weird fantasy I know)

    2. Have a normal size chest (triple digits are just not cool)

    3. Shop at normal stores and not Layne Bryant.

      I'd also like to be able to go out jogging again. It's a great, easy,cheap and time-efficient way to stay in shape. Back in my skinny years, I got up early and jogged 3 miles every morning and had my daily exercise over and done with.

      Now I've been walking every day, 45 minutes to an hour. Once I get down to under 200 lbs. or so, maybe I'll try to start jogging again. I don't want to do it yet, however, at my weight, for fear of putting too much stress on my body and bones.

      Another goal: to get rid of all my plus-size clothes. To wear a size 10 again. To wear size medium instead of XXL.

        1. To make a giant camp fire in my yard and burn all my XXXXXXXXXXXXXXL clothes.
        2. To wear a two pieces swimming suite again.
        3. To shop nice outfits chosen by colour/style criteria and not size.
        4. To enjoy again seeing myself in a mirror.
        5. To hear "wow! is that really you?" from friends I haven't seen in a while.
        6. Last, but not least, to tell myself :"You did it!"

          At our Goodwill there are always nice clothes available, if you are an 8 or 10 or 12.

          Large sizes, not that much and hard to find.

          I am not poor, but I am very frugal. I want to be able to shop the end of month '$1.49 for anything on a hanger' sale and get really good stuff!

            I would love to wear a belt again...and to go dancing without the fear of gasping for air the whole time! OH and I'm 56 and would like to get a tatoo but not on my fat!

              To wear tank tops and not be ridiculed.
              To get my upper back tattooed.
              To be healthy for my future children.
              To not sweat under all my fat rolls....gross but true.
              To not have to constantly fix my bra because my back fat messes it up all day long.
              To have someone say...wow I can't believe you lost all that weight, you look great...or...why don't you eat something...instead of...put the fork down.
              To fell my ribs when I stretch a certain way.
              To see my collar bones.
              To get rid of this horrible double chin.
              To be thinner for once in my life.

                Goals - to be one of those 80 year-old grandmas who are in the newspaper because they've done something like climbed Mt. Everest or ran a marathon or something.

                - to be able to go horsebackriding on the beach in Puerto Vallarta or someplace next time I go on a cruise. The weight limit is always like 200 lbs. or something, plus I'd feel really sorry for the poor horse!!!

                - so my kids who are approaching teenage/high school years won't be completely embarrassed by their fat mother!

                - so that as I get older, I won't have obesity-related health problems and get sick and have to depend on other people(I'm fiercely independent!).

                Wow, I keep thinking of more reasons to lose weight! I'm really motivated now!!! This is a great thread.

                  Hmm, I want to be able to weat shorts without them going up my legs!!
                  And of COURSE;just to feel comfotable in my own body.

                    Hey all,

                    I'm so glad at the response this thread is getting! Keep the responses coming!

                    On that line...on reading through some of these goals I thought of one for myself, one I hadn't even realized but that I would love: to see my hipbones! I didn't realize it because it's NEVER happened, but, boy, it would be nice!

                      I do not wish to look like this.
                      (OK, slight exaggeration ... I do have a waist.)
                      Yesterday I showed my husband my rapidly deflating belly and my looser slacks and he chimed, "Hooray! I'm getting my wife back!" My heart broke a little because he's never said anything really negative about my weight gain; I didn't realize it had affected him so. Then again, he's got a Buddha belly (and an absolutely clean bill of health .... grrrrrr)!

                        My goal is to go shopping for clothes, and not having to try on the biggest size first, and then work my way down. Being able to start at the other end and work my way up (like all of my sisters do) is a goal for me. (in Europe, where I live, the biggest size is wayyy smaller than the biggerst size in the US and Canada, where I work. So it is even more of a challenge)

                          To be able to shop in the regular section again and try on things based on whether or not I like them and not whether or not they will hide this or that body flaw. It is amazing how limited the selection is in the plus sizes.

                          To lose my "dunlop" belly. I've always had a tummy but now it has a fold underneath it.

                          To lose the frumpy feeling and start liking my body again.

                                hello there!
                                i want to learn to scuba dive!!! so my husband and i can take a vacation to the caribbean and actually do it!! i also want to hanglide and you have to be under a certain weight to do that....and i want to do those things with him....i can't believe how much being overweight can affect those special moments with your spouse...oh, i want my upper arms to be smaller- how embarassing- i used to be a collegaite tennis player at penn state!!! and now, the arms are flappy...please i'm on 29- how could this happen!!!
                                i think that's about it for now....but those are up there..thanks for getting me to actually think about them-
                                me!!!
