im on induction right now.its been 7 daqys and i have lost 6 or 7 pounds.is that good?
eating is fine and i have been proud of myself.
    but.....
like today i was very hungry,so as a snack i eat cheese.i usually stick to 8 ounce.but like today i had 5.is it bad to go over the 4 ounce????and do yall think i am in ketosis?and does that mean if i keep it going that i will loose more weight?becuz my plan is to go on extended induction.
please help me answer these questions...

    thanks,desiree

    desiree,
I would absolutely stick to the four oz limit. And thats a maximum LOL, you don't actually have to eat 4 oz. Cheese is both high in calories and high in salt, so it can stall a lot of people. When I fail to lose for a while, I can usually move things along by cutting out the cheese altogether for a while.

depends on how much you want to lose.. most people lose 5-10 % of what they want to lose on induction ie: if you have 50 lbs to lose you lose 2.5-5lbs during induction.. you are just finished w/ the first week @ 6-7 lbs lost is great !

as for the cheese.. you can keep to the 3-4 oz. a day- if you need a snack try a pepporoni stick (no sugar-read labels) hard boiled egg, smaller piece of what ever you had for lunch or dinner.. ie: few bites of some steak or pork chop.. pork rinds help me with any crunchy-salty cravings.. but i dont have them every day..

keep up the good work .. you can do it

oh and that makes me wonder bout all the people that loose like from 12-20 pounds during induction....i think everyone looses more than 5 to 10 percent.i hope mine keeps droping

Re: please help me with this...

Everyone definitely does not lose 5-10 percent... It varies according to metabolic resistance and how much weight you have to lose... I lost 19 pounds in 2 weeks of induction but I have over a hundred to lose. You have lost a pound a day so far, thats amazing progress especially since you only have 35 pounds to go to goal.

I really hope that was a typo when you said you are having 8 ouces of cheese a day sometimes. I have to admit that I have been known to go over on cheese occasionally but 4 oz is the upper limit of what we can have so I would cut back on the cheese and try to stay in the 3-4 oz limit.

I also just wanna say that I think there is no reason for you to go into extended induction. You have 35 pounds left so starting owl and moving up the rungs will prepare you for goal and maintenance and its a very mportant part of the process. Extended induction does not necessarily mean more weight loss. Lots of people lose great on owl, even after getting stalled in inuction so that might be something for you to consider. Good job so far, you are doing really great!

yes it was a typo.i meant to write 4 ounces..lol.this diet is very hard for me though.i am not a big meat eater.i dont even really like eggs.n to be honest,im not gonna eat like this for the rest of my life.and no its not a quick fix,but kinda.its a fast way to loose weight for me so far.when im done,i will deffinetly not eat nearly as many carbs, but i will have some bread damn it.lol.
so what comes after induction?5 grams of carbs more a week, correct?and does that really work???

Do you have the book? If not it would be a worthwhile investment as it explains things very clearly.

I try to keep something like chicken salad in the frig. If I just don't "feel" like chicken salad I realize I am not really hungry. Also at your meals you can eat enough meat to satisfy yourself, but do not overeat just because you 'can". If you post some menues of what you are eating, we can make suggestions.

Just some advice, I would spread out your veggies during the day. That prevents blood sugar spike (experts will correct if I am mistaken). Pretty sure I read that on here. It helps me to add in other veggies from the acceptable list and not just stick to Lettuce only.

Yes I believe so, I would watch out for the salsa. Some have added sugar. I read before that you are watching how much cheese you are getting, I saw it in the other thread.

In my opinion, I was eating my salad at night with my dinner and was sluggish during the day. I halved it and spread my veggies throughout the day and feel so much better.

Got that book on order yet?

I don't think that sour cream is allowed on Induction. You really should get the book it will answer all your questions and help you through every stage.

Sour cream is allowed in small doses (2 tablespoons a day). It is on the induction acceptable list under Herbs and Spices.
