Re: What did you have for dinner?

Tonight I had a large sugar free ham steak sliced up dipped in mustard, cucumber, celery and red pepper dipped in peppercorn ranch dressing and 2 cheese strings. Kind of a finger food night as I was working! Had stir-fry with slices precooked chicken breasts for lunch. Was hungry all afternoon. I am starting to notice a trend, chicken breasts don't fill me up like steak or pork! Wonder if I am the only one???

Taco salad. No shells of course.

Cooked ground beef, added one can diced tomatoes, one can chilies, diced onions and chile powder. Simmered for a while, spooned over chopped romaine, added grated cheese. Gave the family shells with theirs, but mine was fine without!

Tonite it was speghetti squash with a nice meat sauce made with tomatoes out of my garden and a nice salad from lettuce out of the garden too.

we went to a dinner party and I avoided everything I shouldn't have

appetizer of cheddar and kolbassa, shrimps
salad was mixed greens with bacon and chopped egg :yay:
main course was grilled striploin and green beans

lots of desserts and other accompaniments I didn't touch

We had a chicken stir fry last night, with diced chicken, cauliflower, onion, all seasoned with sofrito (a Latin tomato-based sauce ... has a nice flavor and you only need a spoonful) ... the DH had his with Spanish rice.

Tonight we're having a repeat performance of the shrimp scampi we had the other night, since it was so good And I'm definitely making something with spinach and feta this week ... yum!

You might find yourself more satiated if you add fat to the lunch. If the skin is included with the breast and you cook it, eat it too. Otherwise, try adding some other fat (olive oil/mayo/butter/bacon grease etc), such as will compliment the meat &/or veggies, or have a piece of avocado or cheese with the meal.

Also, on the other hand - if you did not cook the chicken yourself, double check the label as innocent-looking prepared meats can be slyly loaded with almost invisible solutions, which could include sugar, & make your cravings flare up.

We are going to have half an avocado heaped with prawns mixed with mayo plus a mixed salad/radishes.
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?

I love this thread I get a lot of great ideas! I think I am going to make the taco(less) salad tonight! Mmmmmmm.....
And Susan, thanks for the suggestions. I checked the ingredients when I bought it and it is just chicken. And don't worry when I make a stir fry it has at least 3 tbsp of butter if not more so fat is not the issue. I just find dark meat more satisfying.

Let's keep this thread going it is terrific!

Last night we had souvlaki pork (from the Lowcarb Slow cooker cookbook),green beans stir fry with butter and bacon pieces, and I 4 slices of cucumber. The rest of the family had some illegal stuff I won't mention here.
For dessert I had a sf lemon pudding made with soy milk and a small amount of whipped topping. Was yummy but the pudding didn't set firm with the soy milk. I think I'll use less milk next time.
                              The whole dinner was yummy!

That book has wonderful ideas. We're gonna try the Good ole' chili one tomorrow night.
