Since I have not eaten coconut oil before, just happen to have several bottles bought a few years ago in a shelf-pull lot (thought they might be good for something, like massage/suntan/essential oils etc).... I'm not sure how to tell if it's still good or not. It doesn't smell like olive oil, LOL.
Is it safe to cook with? Is it supposed to have any distinguishable smell?

...Was in HEAVEN -got to 150, for awhile, then got too busy, and gave in too much... and... OK holding pattern "keep it together..." 
I find a generous teaspoon is enough to cook two eggs ... then I dump the remaining oil over the eggs and it kind of gets "absorbed" by them ... tastes really good!
