  • Ode to spaghetti squash....

Why, oh why, did I wait 40 years to try this yummy vegetable. It's light, doesn't have an overwhelmingly squashy taste and it was easy to fix!

I ate mine with butter and parmesan. It was, as Rachel Ray says, delish.

How do you like your spaghetti squash?

I like mine with a little bit of garlic butter. Sometimes I stuff half of one with a mixture of fried ground pork and onions and bake it in the oven. Delicious!

omg i always tell everyone in the supermarket about spaghetti squash... so many people don't know about it... the only reason I really do is because when I went to Israel its a staple there and when I came back home from visiting I realized they had it here... and what better way then to use it as pasta for atkins... I put all natural vodka sauce on mine and add fresh garlic and chicken or shrimp... and it is like heaven lol

oh and heavenly rose... spaghetti squash is yellow, long , round and thick... you slice it in half, put the oven on at 350 for 45 minutes (after getting the seeds out ) then take a fork and scrape the spaghetti out... it is so good!

I love to use it as spaghetti with a meaty tomato sauce and cheese over top. Makes me happy every time I have it.

That sounds a great way of using it which I had never thought of. Thank you for the idea
We often have stuffed marrow (a vegetable marrow is a bit like a giant courgette/zucchini with large seeds and stringy bits in the middle like a spaghetti squash) and I never thought of doing the same with a spaghetti squash!

Recently Waitrose have had them occasionally amongst their mixed squashes - the ones I have bought look rather like a honeydew melon rather than the shape vulcan posted a picture of.
As I gather they keep well I bought 4 last week while they were available.
