  • What do you typically eat for breakfast?

I feel like I eat the same thing most of the time for breakfast ~ 2 eggs cooked in butter topped with 1 oz of Sharp Cheddar or Swiss. Sometimes I'll add mushrooms, other times I'll add red and green peppers. More often than not I'll have 3 links of sausage or 3 strips of bacon with the eggs.

I'm looking for new ideas (and I'm sure others are, too) so I'm wondering what do YOU typically have for breakfast?

Thanks in advance for the new ideas !

how about a blueberry/strawberry cooler.......just throw them in a blender with some ice and water i think there is some kind of low carb yogurt that you may be able to use as well......faze or something?

While I rarely tire of 2 bacon 1 egg for breakfast, sometimes I like to switch it up. About 1-2 times per week I have some sort of flaxmeal: either flax cream of wheat or the muffin in a minute. The other thing I like to have as a change is cold grilled chicken. I marinate my chicken leg/thigh combo in a bit of worcheshire sauce for 1-2 hours and then put on some type of meat seasoning. My current fave is montreal steak seasoning- it tastes great with any meat. The chicken tastes great grilled and goes with any veggie for dinner- or shred it and put in a salad. The chicken tastes great the next morning. I usually nuke it in the microwave for 30-45 seconds to just take out the chill and it is a good boost of protien to start the day off with. I hope you can use some of these ideas!

I often make a crustless quiche to be able to have "grab'n'go" food in the fridge.

A slice or two of this gets me some veg as well as meat/eggs/cream/cheese and is a good start to the day.

Lately I have been lining the dish with salami slices and cutting down on the cheese content - my latest one I added pumpkin puree instead of my usual cooked cauliflower.

Egg is a staple of mine too. I like to scramble mine. There are very many variations of scrambled eggs that are kind of cool. Adding some tabasco for kick is a nice variety. My favourite is sharp cheddar cheese.
I also sometimes have the flax muffin
Or cottage cheese (or yogurt) with berries and roasted almonds.
Or when in a time crunch a protein powder, cocoa, cream, decaf shake.

If raw eggs is not a problem for you - egg creams are really good too and no end to variations.
2 eggs, some cream, some splenda, vanilla for taste, coffee ice cubes, cold coffee.

I have been cooking a lot of omelets lately. Sausage, bell peppers, avocado, minced garlic & onions, tomatoes, cheddar, & Swiss, dipped in sour cream. Yum; it is wonderful. No fancy kitchenware required - just a tiny skillet.

Re: What do you typically eat for breakfast?

During the weight loss phases and for quite some time after that I used to eat eggs in various ways, for breakfast... or sometimes leftover meat and veggies.

Recently my fav breakfast (maintenance) is a homemade muesli substitute:
Mix 1 T uncooked oats, 2 T mixed chopped nuts, about one fifth of a pear or apple diced small (or some berries), small pinch salt. Add two teaspoons of thick cream lengthened with cold water to make a sort of mock milk. Splenda to taste (within limits).

On very cold days I have cooked oats (but only 1 T uncooked) stretched with a tablespoon of Thicken Thin Not Cereal or, when I can't get hold of that, a teaspoon of Thicken Thin Not Starch. I eat the oats the Scottish way, i.e. salty and piping hot with a couple of heaped teaspoons of very cold thick cream on the side.

My breakfasts are not very ample, but I have an almond flour/Carbquick biscuit (microwaved) mid-morning, with decaff coffee.

I have only been eating a few pieces of bacon or sausage. I don't know why I gave up on eggs... but I'm sure it's only a phase. I need to start eating them again

I love cheeseburgers for breakfast. I fry one up and put cheese on top and saute a veggie in the same pan while the cheeseburger cooks, lately it's been zucchini.
I also love to dice up left over meat (chicken breast or steak, for example) saute in oil oil with spices of your choosing and then fry an egg to serve on top of it.

I make trail bars....pumpkin seeds. sunflower seeds, various nuts, coconut, raspberries baked with sweet perfection sweetener (which behaves like sugar and makes it all stick together)

If I were maintaining, I'd probably add a bit of oatmeal to make it a complete protein. Hmmm, maybe egg white....I'll have to play with that.

I love mexican style eggs. Cook scrambled eggs as usual and then add chopped fresh chilli, 3-4 chopped cherry tomatoes and a pinch of dried oregano (or fresh coriander). This is so delicious.

When you do, try to find some Omega-3 eggs. They cost a bit more but are worth it (IMO).

I am kind of sick of eggs. I usually have left-over dinner for breakfast. It is usually steak, fish, or chicken. I know that salad in the morning sounds weird, but it works for me. Good luck and Merry Christmas!
