Re: New Year's Atkins Resolutions - list them here

My goal is to increase my running time. I woule like to be able to jog/run a 5K by my birthday in March. With no job for me or hubby I can't afford the entry fee BUT I can still KNOW that I can do it and that will be enough.
I am running three times a week now and weight training three days with one day rest right now. I hope that gets me there.

Re: New Year's Atkins Resolutions - list them here

I met Dr Atkins in January 2003 with his lovely wife Veronica at the Learning Annex event that Dr Atkins Hosted in NYC. He signed my book and I thanked him for helping me to lose a ton of weight. He said to try to avoid eating anything containing Nitrates. Contrary to what some have stated I can tell you from my personal experience that Dr Atkins was not at all overweight or obese as some have claimed.

You know, I didn't see this until a week after New Years...

I didn't make any resolutions for this year, though I have goals aplenty...admittedly.
        • I want to drop these bloody 25 pounds and be done, and not worry about it any more - not let stress, or schedule disruptions, or visits, or anything throw me off course. ATKINS IS YOUR FRIEND!!!
        • I am up for a potential promotion after our company goes live at the end of this month. I really, really, really want that promotion. I have to do everything in my power to help the go-live run smoothly.
        • If I get the promotion, I want to start on my MBA by the end of 2009. I will be the last of my friends to get their second (or third, doh!) degree and you know, everyone, everyone competes about something. I cannot believe I feel like a loser for not having a masters, but there it is.
        • Lastly? LOL - I want to be more consistent about making my children brush/floss nightly and practice piano before bed. I am so tired most evenings that I don't oversee them as stringently as I'd like, and you know, it's gotta be done, tired or not.
If I can succeed in one thing (losing the weight) I can succeed in many things. And it's related, really! If I drop 25 pounds I will be able to justify a whole new executive wardrobe to go with my promotion!!

Ahhh...so many things come to mind but the biggest one would be hitting my goal by June-July.

Redefining my life and activity, completely embracing being active as my lifestyle. Working on my confidence and self esteem once I hit goal to stop seeing myself as "the fat girl". Just loving me for me.
