Okay fellows heres whats going on

i did induction for 2 weeks and lost only 2 lbs.
Then i discovered i did everything the wrong way.. honestly i did some stupid mistakes like not differentiating between fat and protein, taking extra sweetner and processed food.
I wrote a thread that i was upset but all my fellows cheared me up
Tomorrow i will start induction the right way...
i will use fitday, to help me calculate my carbs intake.
I used it today and discovered that my carb inatke is only 13 grams. so I should increase it

    My goals:
1-plan my meals a week ahead- use the help of fitday to count carbs
    2-proceed on wlaking 40 mis a day
    3-caffene free(no tea no coffee)
    4- no sweetners at all

    wish me luck

No - you just need to follow your great plan with everyone's help and support
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
Take a look at the thread from the latest Veggie Challenge to see how others manage it!

                  Re: Wish me luck

I lost 9 pounds, which might not sound like a lot but when compared to losing 1-2 pounds a week on most other diets, I think it's pretty darn good, and I'm okay with it, I just want to see it keep coming off. I know it's not going to continue to drop at that rate, but I'm happy with the start off and I'm on a roll of sorts, back into the low carb habit and I feel really good so far.

Congratulations! You did the right thing when you posted and gave people a chance to help you understand where you were going wrong. That is huge!

So many people do induction wrong, only lose a couple of pounds, and give up thinking that Atkins does not really work. They then just fade away and go try another diet looking for a miracle.

You don't need luck when you have that smart brain of yours working! You will do great!

                        Sunny!

I got your PM. Thanks. I was just wondering how many calories shows up in fitday. If you still worry about your menu you could make fitday public and we could look at it and see if we have any more suggestions. Adding good oil sounds great. Don't forget to drink plenty of water.

EVOO and real butter are among the healthiest fats on the planet. There are only about five fats that are readily absorbable and immediately available to the body for energy. Butter is one and two others are virgin coconut oil and unprocessed palm oil. These are fats like nature intended and they don't have to go through a bunch of body processes to be utilized by the liver.

We have been hoodwinked by the food "industry" for decades about the health of fats. Any time you monkey around with nature and natural food, it will never be as healthy. It took years after they found out that margarine and Crisco were filled with trans fats, and the real bad guys of fats, for the government to acknowledge that fact and move towards getting it out of the food system. I admit I fell for that one for years.

All foods in nature are made up of properties that complement each other, so that it is better digested and you get the maximum nutrition from the food. An egg is one of nature's most perfect foods, but for years we were warned against eating the yolk, the part with the most nutritional value. Most of the nutrients in the white can't be absorbed when the yolk is missing, so they just exit the body unabsorbed. Glad I never fell for that one.

Not that mayo isn't healthy, but it depends on what kind of processed oil they use as to just HOW healthy I'd call it. The closer it is to nature, the better it is for you. Extra virgin olive oil from the first cold press is the best. All highly processed oils that have been heated are not healthy at all--some worse than others.

Natural fats from olives and avocado are very healthy. When you get to rung three, nuts and seeds contain extremely healthy fats.

I eat all of these fats and my blood work has never been better. My good cholesterol is sky high and my triglycerides are in the basement. My doctor is amazed every three months when he does a complete screening. It just keeps getting better and better.

                              Sunny!
