Hi
Can anyone please help me try to understand the whole carb dilemma.
I started induction, and dropped 11lbs in 9 days. Now, day 15.. not only haven't I lost.. but have gained 2lbs back! My husband is on the diet too, and dropped 20lbs in 10 days, but has not lost in the last 5 days.
We are confused about this whole net carb issue, because from what we can see in the book, there is no mention of net carbs.. just carbs.
According to a few other sites, there seems to be a difference in the UK and the US over carbs and net carbs. In the US you have to deduct the fibre, whereas in the UK we never include them in the carb value in the first place - hence, the fibre value shouldn't be deducted because it was never incorporated in the first place
Am beginning to think my scales carry the UK values, but adopts the US method of deducting fibre which then means the carb value is under-estimated. Has anyone else come across this?
Plus... all the other sites/books etc/packaging conflict with Dr Atkins book. Dr Atkins book says 10 brazil nuts is 4g of carbs... but everything else I look at would estimate these to be around 1.5g carbs max.
Help... please.... why is this all so contradictory?
Beverley
