    I miss milk! I loved milk I could have drank a gallon a day haha if I let myself. I think it makes your meal taste so much better.. I haven't found a good replacement but I was wondering if you had something you missed and have found a replacement for...

    I'm not worrying about what I miss most - which would be Hieinz ketchup - but focusing on what I can now enjoy, pretty much guilt free!

      I don't miss any of it - I feel as though carbs are a poison to my system and should be restricted for the rest of my life. I feel SO MUCH BETTER there is no way I will go back to feeling like s--t all the time

        uffff.. I am looking for good replacements for things that we used to eat like the cauliflower mashed potatoes.... not any holier than thou thinking that we don't miss anything...

        it frustrates me so much that when I post things I get people replying things like this that don't fit the title. I didn't ask do you miss anything or not.. I asked what do you miss if you don't miss anything don't post. Great you get the prize for being the strongest low carber in the world do you want a ribbon. You don't need to brag that you are able to do this woe with no cravings or without missing anything.. you are the best we all through a party in your honor. This is the reason I left this board for the last 3 months.

        I do miss things and I would like to talk to people that are in my boat. that it is a bit of a struggle to stick it out and can offer sympathy when I need it and encouragement when I need that. I don't need a bunch of people going it is sooo easy what is wrong with you...


        So please stick to the topic at hand and lets give some people some alternatives to their favorite treats.. which is how many low carb recipies started

          Ding Ding Ding! You nailed it with the milk. I used to drink a gallon a day. I also miss pizza, and I am experimenting. I have seen the cauliflower crust, I have tried using a thin layer of sausage for the crust, but I have a new idea that I might try tomorrow. I have been snacking on fried cheese (the no melt kind) and salsa. It is great. I am going to have some of that cheese sliced really thin in the deli and make a pizza crust out of it. I think that will work. I am trying cauliflower lasagna for dinner tonight. I make an awesome real lasagna, so my family is excited to be getting lasagna for dinner tonight. I won't tell them until after dinner that it is low carb. The biggest barrier in the lasagna and pizza is the sauce now that I think I have the crust nailed. Tomato puree has about 25 grams of carbs per 15 oz can. I need to reduce that or go with very little sauce. I wish they didn't put so much sugar in it. I may have to make my own sugar free variety. Hope this is what you were looking for.

            Oh, trust me, I miss milk as well! It was the only thing I craved when I first started! Now I've been on this WOE for almost four months and the cravings have completely vanished. I haven't had a glass since before I started. Crazy, since I use to drink a couple glasses a day!

            Another thing that I miss is the starchy stuff... you know, spaghetti, bread, all that stuff. I don't crave it, though... because I know it was that stuff that got me to that horrible "before" weight!

            There are other things as well, but I'll get over it

              I just made Waffels out of Pork rinds, Eggs and Cream....Fantastic!! But I do miss the real Pancakes/Waffles with all kind of syrop.

              I also miss Diet Coke...so I drink Decaf Ice Tea

                waffles out of pork rinds.. hummmm I am trying to imagine the recipe... haha...

                What is the kind of cheese that doesn't melt?

                I like to stick a slice of american cheese on a plate (pam first) and then microwave for one minute.. it gets kind of bubbly and then crunchy... it is pretty good but you have to limit because it does have 1 carb..

                thanks ya'll you get it... the cravings do go but you still miss some food

                  Sushi!! But now I irritate the sushi chef at my fav sushi bar to make me the California, Oregon, Philidelphia and House Rolls with no rice! I suddenly relized that I love it just as much! It must be the Nori and Wasabi flavors that I love about Sushi anyways (oh and the fish/crab of course)! Who need the white rice? They are a little less filling, since there is no rice, but that okay, I am not as hungry as I used to be anyways. Yum!

                    It comes in many forms. There are some middle eastern cheeses and some mexican cheeses.

                    Frying Cheese

                    They have both queso fresco and queso blanco at Walmart and Winn-Dixie here. It's really easy to use. I just cut it in sticks and fry it with pam. It gets nice and brown on the outside and is awesome with salsa. It stays firm too, which is why I think it will make a great pizza crust.

                      I'm craving yoghurt at the moment - Mullerlight Rhubarb to be precise.

                      Am actually getting sick of eggs... meat... cheese... although I am enjoying eating fried cheese - the one I love is Halloumi which is a Cypriot cheese... it is yum!

                        You asked an open question, I gave you my reply, don't take these things so personally or use it as an excuse to attack me. I did not critisize you, so what right do you have to do that to me. We do not know each other but we use this board to learn. Only critisize when it is constructive. If you only wanted to speak to people 'in your boat' you should have specified this when you posted.

                          I love tacos and tostados. I still eat them only I make cheese shells now.
                          I love lasagana. I still eat lasagana, only I replace the noodles with eggplant noodles.
                          I love speghetti and replace the noodles with speghetti squash.
                          Just a few things I can think of.
                          If I want a glass of milk, I use my allowed cream and just water it down.

                            Peanut butter, Vodka and Tonic in the early days, not so bad now but as a rule but on a saturday night when we sit down as a family and have a weekly chill out zone...with peanuts and vodka and tonic ...a little would be nice! But I can't I on the last fews days of induction

                              Wine...chardonnay, merlots and cabs. I'm staying in Extended Induction for a few months, so I have literally just had to quit drinking. I tried to have an occasional glass, and I think that it stalled me, big time? At this stage, the weight loss is more important to me. I don't know if I will ever add it back in, when I get to that rung.

                              In the evening, which was my usual glass of wine time, it helps to hold a bottle of water or cup of tea and drink them....replace the "action" of having a drink. SleepyTime tea relaxes me like a glass of wine before bed.

                              Also: PIZZA! But I believe that this is a trigger food for me and that I will never safely be able to eat just one slice.
