I couldn't find a use to them before, Adena. :P

Okay, turning back to the original question... If, let's say, you take Alli and do Atkins *and* everything works without side effects and you manage to lose faster than you would on Atkins alone (I assume this is the idea, since most people overweight today want to be slim tomorrow), then how are you going to determine your CCLL? Or how are you going to do OWL at all? You would not have any idea which foods cause you problems (because you would still lose with Alli) or where you should stop with your carbs (theoretically, your would *always* lose, no matter how many carbs you are eating... which is, after all, the point of Alli). So while one can lose weight if the two even worked together (although they have completely opposite and possibly neutralizing mechanisms as Megs pointed out), there is no way one can maintain that loss after stopping Alli.

I'm not a doctor, nor do I stay at Holiday Inn Express, but everyone that has been doing this WOE for any amount of time knows that you level off between weeks 3 and 5. This is because of you body's built in defense mechanism to prevent losing too much too quick. This WOE will give you the maximum safe weight loss for your body if done correctly. That being said, and if you wish to throw caution to the wind, if I were to add any diet pill to this plan it would be a thermogenic, not a fat blocker. We need the fat in this WOE to ensure we get enough calories to keep us out of starvation mode. Fat has 9 calories per gram, protein 4, and carbs 4. Do the math and you will see that to get a realistic amount of calories, you need every gram of fat you can get your lips around. That's why we praise the health benefits of butter and heavy cream. They are calories that you need and help keep you satisfied longer than just protein.

I don't see the point in it. The obvious side effects arn't even worth it, plus, Atkins is a high-fat diet so you can burn fat for energy instead of carbs. If you are using Alli to cut down all the fat, I'm guessing you will be feeling pretty down in the dumps due to lack of energy. Wouldn't matter anyway, since you'd be on the toilet 24/7

Um ya, I took alli and lived on the toilet even had a few accidents and ruined some clothes. I would never ever ever take it again. I couldn't imagine taking it while doing atkins. That is a disater waiting to happen.

Doesn't that Alli stuff block some of the fat? If it does than I'd say a big NO on using it while doing Atkins since you need fat anyway.
