  • Watching thin people eat...

Does it ever bother you to watch thin people eat junk everyday?

I have two people in my life who are naturally thin (nothing against thin people- I'm trying to be one again) but watching them eat candy, cookies, chips, icecream, bread all day everyday just makes me sick.

I used to be that way so I guess that's how heavier people felt about me at the time.

It is actually very hard because one them lives with me.

And if one more of them tells me to "eat a little dessert each day instead of going cold turkey" I think I will scream!!

You don't give a crack head a little crack...the same goes for a sugar head.

    Just venting.

I definitely hear you, it is so frustrating and some what annoying, and also seem a little unfair.

      Yes it seems unfair.

          Hmm

My intention was not to blame thin people for what nature gave to them.

          I was just venting.

Thats why thin people just don't get it. How many times have we heard, "all you have to do is push away from the table"! Thank goodness the good doctor came and told us that it's not our fault, that all folks aren't the same and that some can live on junk and remain thing.

And on the other side of that, I remember when I was at goal last time eating a bunless burger with blue cheese and bacon and ceasar salad with a glass of wine and feeling pretty good - when one of the people (who would have benefitted from losing a few pounds) at my table made some comments about being me lucky to eat what I want....

I know huh!! I think about that quite often.. I always wonder why my friends and Fiance can eat anything they want and stay fit... yet i have been on a diet for the last 10 yeas and i'm fat .....

The other day a friend of mine (a very thin friend) told me she was watching movies all day long and she ate a whole bag or oreo's... i have never had a WHOLE bag or oreo's ... that actually sounds like it would make me sick.... but I'm the fat one and shes the one having cookie after cookie as thin as can be ...

It's just not fair! i wanna be a thin cookie eater !! lol

I would just like it if these particular people wouldn't compare themselves to me when diet and food come up in discussion.

I mean if I'm struggling to lose weight, do I really need to hear you tell me how wonderful your metabolism is and how you only need to exercise twice a week and how you can eat a candy bar when you want without any problems.

Gee whiz... I just want some sensitivity.

While we are venting on thin people.... the kind that gets to me are the ones that talk about food, recipes and eating quite a lot but then when it comes down to eating they eat like birds. Oh well

                        Re: Watching thin people eat...

I just have to promise to be more sensitive to people who may be struggling with their weight and health. I will be thin again oneday. Maybe these situations where given to me for a reason. I have been thin before. I never put others down or anything, but I'm sure that once I hit Maintenance level it will be different. I took my thinness 20 years ago for granted. I think this time I will have a new apprecation for my body and other people's bodies.

Someone mention eating a WHOLE bag of Oreos.
Well, I have done it and can do it now. It was not good for my body but definitely good to my tastebuds.

That is why this diet is so important for me. I can't stop at just one cookie or one scoop of icecream. I keep going until it is all gone.

I'd like it if those thin people would believe me and be a bit more supportive. I don't think they believe in sugar addiction.

just let me say - a WHOLE bag of oreos in one sitting???...yeah - "been there - done that." literally.

seriously. oreos are my downfall. I used to come home and when i DID keep them in the house (which sucks that my fiance STILL keeps them in the house - and you have NO idea how hard it is for me...) - but literally, I'd come home from work and "pop an oreo".

oh well - just sharin' my own experience. :P

                            Keriann,
My husband has a nice stash of goodies as well. M&Ms, cookies, pretzels, chips, orange candies, juice, ice cream...life is hard. I've been doing very well but I have to be absolutely sure I have enough food for myself.

God forbid I don't have anything to snack on and I have a dark moment.

My husband is very thin so these things don't bother him. (Even though I know that junk really isn't good for anyone...heavy or not)

I don't find myself jealous of them at all. Even when I was my heaviest. They might have better metabolisms than I do, but look at the junk they are eating....it's really junk. So they're not doing their health any favors.

I know that I'm eating healthy food--not the processed and refined junk they are---so my body is healthier and runs on cleaner fuel.
