I hope you are following the rules of Atkins.
Following the rules? I'm the Atkins model citizen!!!
Honestly, I don't think I'm going to take the pills...mainly because I don't think they'll work any better than what's going on right now for me. I finally fixed a high sodium problem and dropped the extra water weight that I was carrying...I also increased the fat and dropped another 2. So far, so good. I was only posting what I saw my buddy doing. As far as "doing Atkins," technically you're right. By adding the caffeine he's not "doing Atkins." Everything else, however, he is following. In fact, we share menus and help each other out. Like I said, it's a friend doing it.

      Re: Weight Loss Pills?

Just a refresher here... Caffeine can affect different people differently, and with the potential for it to undermine your progress via cravings, insulin spikes, stalling, etc. Atkins does say caffeine should be avoided ...

But we ARE all different; some may tolerate 5 cups of coffee along with Taurine, throw in some metabolic boosters, iodine, ephedrine, yohimbine, etc etc...some may put themselves at risk of serious reactions, even life threatening, attempting half that.

On top of this, there are many different "recipes" in the world of weight loss pills, per se, as well as wide variations in the efficacy of the ingredients from one product to the next. Not all metabolic boosters contain caffene. Ingredients CAN be found individually, tried in small doses at first to assess one's individual response to it...then them, whatever the combination...
