No-Cook Low Carb Bourbon Barbecue Sauce:

29 ounces no sugar added tomato sauce
6 ounces no sugar added tomato paste
    2 ounces bourbon
    2 tablespoons white vinegar
    2 tablespoons liquid smoke
    1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
    1/2 tablespoon hot sauce
3/4 cup sugar substitute (recommended: Splenda)
1/4 cup brown sugar substitute, optional (recommended: Sugar Twin brand)
2 tablespoons red onion, finely chopped
    1 small clove garlic, minced
    1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
    1 tablespoon kosher salt
    1 teaspoon black pepper

    1 teaspoon onion powder

Combine sauce ingredients in a bowl and whisk well to combine. Reserve.

This George Stella's recipe courtesy of www.foodnetwork.com. I have had his sauce and it is good. I omit the bourbon, though. Here is the link to his rib recipe, too if you're interested.

Holy crap that sounds good. I'm gonna try that. I didn't think about making a BBQ sauce. I just gave it up.

I was not really pleased with the BBQ sauce recipe I tried from Linda's Low Carb site, but an excellent bottled sauce is KC Masterpiece Classic Blend (1 carb per TBS). I haven't found it at any of my local stores but it can be ordered from Netrition.com KC Masterpiece Barbecue Sauce

          Hi Forest,

Not sure if you have tried a dry rub before, but in my humble opinion, but I don't even use bbq sauce on my ribs anymore...I serve it on the side for those people that need to have it. As a matter of fact, Memphis is known for their dry rubs.

If you are daring enough...lol...give this a try.

Memphis Style Rib Rub - Sugar Free
          4 teaspoons paprika
          2 teaspoons salt
          2 teaspoons onion powder
2 teaspoons fresh ground black pepper
1 teaspoons cayenne - use less for less heat (maybe 1/4 teaspoons)
Mix ingredients together. Store in an airtight container. Spread evenly on prepared ribs that have been patted dry and let sit until the rub appears moist.

          Good Luck!

Forest, I second the dry rub, but I have been using a honey mustard BBQ dip lately for pork and sausage. It is equal parts hot mustard, hot sauce, and sugar free honey or syrup. I don't like mustard very much, but these combined are magical. I actually skimp a little on the honey or syrup because all of the sugar alcohols kinda scare me a bit. Also, a very little of this goes a long way.
