  • Hmm...

    hi...
    well..i've finished my 14 day-induction...
    then on the 15th day onwards...i've not been feeling well..
    i can't eat at all..
    i only have like a cup of coffee and few nuts a day...
    then ytdy i really don't feel good..
    i had 5 grapefruits..
    n i poo a lot this morning...
    i went on the scale n i lost 0.5kg...
    now my appetite is better and i feel good..
    shud i go bck to induction 2day??

    Hi sweetie,
    Nice to see you. Congratulations on finishing your 2 weeks induction. What were your losses for Induction? Sorry you weren't feeling well. You shouldn't of been eating nuts if you moved onto Rung 1 veggies. Rung 1 is 5 more net carb grams of veggies on top of what you were eating during Induction. The nuts(rung 3) will have to wait untill after Rung 2 dairy. Just move onto Owl Rung 1. Eat 25 grams of Net Carbs a day. Or, 5 more net carb grams of what you were eating during Induction and see how it goes. Do you have DANDR 2002? That will help guide you. If not I can direct you to information that will help you, okay.

      If you ate grapefruit you are definitely not on Atkins. Maybe you weren't feeling well because you havent been getting enough fiber. Were you taking anything to supplement fiber during induction? That can make you feel bad. Also, were you drinking a lot of water? You should be. Without a daily menu it is hard to tell. If you had nuts and grapefruit you definitely are not on plan, but the fact that you feel better now that you have had a bowel movement tells me that may have been part of the problem. Please give us more information.

        yea...i wasnt on atkins d day i had grapefriut...
        i felt terrible...n i was craving..
        i heard dat grapefriut is low gi..so i ate dat...
        nope..i jz had normal vege for fiber during induction...din take any other supplement..
        i ate nuts bcoz i really duno wat else 2 eat..
        i dun hv appetite for anythg else..
        so i snack on a few maccadamia...

          ty ty...i m proud of myself too for completing the 2wk induction..haha...
          i was doubting myself b4 dat..luckily i managed to complete it..
          but nw...haih...tink i'll restart induction again...it's like extended induction to me i guess..haha..
          oh...i din lose much during induction..
          only lost a kg...
          i m trying not 2 b obsess over the scale too much...haha...
          so din really keep track on hw much i lose...
          my weight goes up n down sumtimes...bout i m currently bout 49-50kg lidat la..sumtimes 48.5...LOL..
          yup..i do hav DANDR 2002...
          i read it b4 i started induction..
          hmm..if i hav maccadamia nuts ocasionally izit ok?
          instead of eating more veggies n cheese cn i straight go to rung 3?

            Hi,
            I would highly recomend you move up the rungs correctly. You won't be on extended induction as long as you're eating nuts, even a few.
            To do Atkins correctly, it would be wise to move onto rung 1 veggies after extended induction. You should be getting the majority of your carbs from veggies. If you eat dairy, as in cottage cheese, whey,yogart, milk, more cream or sour cream than induction, then you shouldn't skip dairy as well. Remember that nuts have a tendancy to stall some floks. So go easy on the nuts. Make sure you measure them according to one ounce carb count at a time, okay. But I would wait untill you go though rung 1 and 2 before eating nuts. So important.
            Read some more in DANDR about how to go about OWL. That will explain how important it is to move up the rungs correctly, okay?

              yea..okay...tnx for d advice sherri..
              i did not follow atkins yt ytdy..though i ate most proteins n fats ytdy..but i had a slice of pineapple...
              i'll b bck on atkins 2day...
              so wish me luck yea..it would b like day 1 again for me..LOL...

                Okay, no more fruit for you either. LOL, I forgot to mention that the pineapple and grapefruit have to wait untill rung 7. Okay?
                Also, that all nuts are not created equal. There are different carb counts for the amount that you're allowed to eat.
