  • Day Three and going strong!

I can't believe that I actually had the induction headache yesterday! Today is day three completley clean/percentages correct day of Atkins.

I noticed today that my hands are getting smaller...BIG DEAL...my belly is still the same size, I still have a double chin, my butt is still huge but my hands are getting smaller...Gheeeeezzzzzz!

I am 264 today which is 4lbs smaller than Monday, I did not go to the gym yesterday but did go today...22 floors on the stepper and 6 miles on the bike. That stepper just KILLS!

I am looking forward to OWL...still a little scared about it (I've never in all these years moved on) but I'm trying to wrap my head around it now so I don't chicken out again like I usually do.

I'm not hungry at all today...I mean not at all. I've consumed 2 stalks of celery, 1oz of cream cheese and 2 boiled eggs today, that's it. I have my 2 cups of lettuce and ranch dressing if I get hungry in the next 2 hours.

    How is everybody doing?

Ok, I read that response and got defensive, then I remembered what I posted, this is only one day, the first time in over a month, it is because I am really in ketosis (probably for the first time) and ketosis is strong! Starve myself...you did read that I'm 264 right...I ate myself to that weight it did not magically appear one day...lol.

No worries on the starving self front, just not my thing. Thank you for the concern.

Thank you for saying hi! Good luck in your journey...I've started day 4 and am still doing really well. I got hungry late last night (around 10PM) wihich is so rare for me (I'm usually asleep by then) so I ate a piece of pork chop...a little lettuce with ranch dressing...I actually woke up hungry this AM which is also rare for me.

My hands are really shoing that they are slimming down! I wish the rest of my body would follow! My stomach is STILL the same size.....

Congratulations on making to day four! So many people start and by the time the induction flu hits them... they are face-first in the Haagan-Das!

Your work out sounded so brutal to me. I am impressed. Forgive me if you posted it and I just missed it, but is this your very first time on Atkins? You sound very at ease with it.

Best of luck and keep up your tenacity!

Same here i am starting for like the thousandth time but i realized why i tended to fail the other times...it was b/c i would start on Atkins the same day i would start a pretty tough workout regiment...so to avoid FAILURE....I have been working out for about 1 month prior to starting atkins...and now ...although day 3 i feel i am not going through such a tough time and feeling EUPHORIC..thank God.....Good Luck to all!!!

Re: Day Three and going strong!

2BME - Hi, I've been on and off Akins now for the past 8 or so years, when I did it the first time I dropped 32lbs in one month! It was amazing...then I got angry about not having fruit, then I slipped in and out of lowering my calories so much that I would burn out. The one thing I've never done and I really think will make all the difference this time is going on to OWL...I'm determined to do this correctly! I love Atkins, I've done every diet out there in the past 8 years...and I always come back to Atkins, this time I am going to do it correctly, figuring out the percentages, going to the gym...eating clean until I am at goal.

akader - I am much like you in that I never really figured out the exercise part. I would do a diet and stop exercising (my rationale would be that if I am lowering my cals and denying myself I don't want to and should not have to work out) then I would start working out because that was not working for me and stop dieting...same rationale, just backwards.

Now I'm doing both and not really trying to do too much in the gym and just sticking to the basics of Atkins, it's really not so bad!

I can't wait to be able to stay on that stepper for 30 minutes!

Hi bbb - I know what you mean - the first place I notice any loss is always my wrist - and I have to move my watch strap up a notch. I have over 100 lbs to lose and my wrists are about the only part of my body that could stay the same size and be OK!

Well done on your progress so far

BBB love your attitude and the fact that you are tackling one aspect at a time. Smart plan. I think too often we try to get a GUNG HO start with food, water, exercise all at once and get burned out before we even get a week under our too tight belts. I have found I need to get solid with Phase 1 before moving on to phase 2 and 3 (the phases change with each attempt) LOL Oh and by the way, I always lose first in useless places. The dreaded hips are always the last to go. (sigh)

The idea that my hips will go after my belly...ohhhhhh....you've given me hope

Today was day 5 and I'm still going strong, bad day with eating though, I've not eaten much (running my dd around for her semi-formal) I did take a suggestion from another member and went to the grocery store, bought read leaf lettuce, mayo, 1/4lb corned beef (from deli) 1/4lb ham, and 4 slices of provolone cheese. I made two 'sandwiches' with two pieces of lettuce each, wrapped the meat, 1 slice each, in the lettuce with mayo....yuuuuuummmmmmyyyyyy!!!!! Stayed on plan!

Today is day 8! I'm doing very very well. No cheats at all and I am makings ure my percentages are on track. I have also been working out at least three days at week.

I feel good. I look better. I'm still having problems with my scale at home, it says I am 275 or 277 something like that, the scale in the gym has me at 263, needless to say which scale I'm going by! Firday is weigh in day at the doc. I would like to see a few more lbs gone, but I'm very happy with what I have.

                        This is a great board!

                            260! I kept begging it to go to 259...got off...got back on...got back off...lol...260, I'll take it.
