thats it.. the less you have to lose, the slower it "melts off". And then as we age.. well. its that much harder. You know it works! just hang in there

I just wonder why you even asked for help you seem so determined to do it your way so why even ask for advice if you aren't going to take it?!!! You just seem to be insulting people that are doing it right and are only trying to be nice and help you reach your goal!!! There is no reason to be rude!!!!

          Re: 2 weeks and nothing?

i cam in because there was a huge lull in time ..nothing was happening. it had been years. i lost faith that it would work. faith has now been restored. i messed up by not saying i have already gone through the steps and should not have put owl cat 1.....i am ready to maintain weight next week. i am sorry you feel like i insulted anyone, i am sure its not the case and someone took it that way. if you go back you will see more people have been rude to me than the opposite and i handle it quite well btw.

I don't know what diet you did 13 years ago spinky, but what you are doing now is not Atkins. We are not saying you cannot lose weight doing what you are doing. Nope. However, this is an Atkins board, so we expect people here to follow Atkins. Eating apples the first day after Induction is not Atkins, spinky.

Normally I would be willing to write a long post explaining how people on Atkins can do any form of exercise (aerobic or anaerobic) while following Atkins the way Dr. Atkins wrote this diet. But this time I think I'll pass...

also if your losing 10 pounds thats not the same as 100 pounds..
As someone who has about 10 lbs to lose, I am perfectly aware of this, spinky. However, I do not use this as an excuse to bend the rules. One is either following Atkins or is not. Not any low carb diet is Atkins, so please don't call whatever you are doing Atkins.

also not everyone has an eating disorder..for me my back kind of went out i didnt exercise as much and gained 10-15 pounds...
True, I don't think I have an eating disorder either. I do have trigger foods and food combinations though. I also have foods that stall my weight loss even when I stay within my CCLL. But this is all nicely explained in the book.

but two weeks has brought me back to where i need...
Good to hear that, spinky. But as I've said, not Atkins.

please channel that energy for positive things....like losing weight!
That's not the issue, spinky. What bothers me is that we, those who are being "rude" with you, have to waste time explaining you that what you are doing is not Atkins. We could use this time helping those who actually want to follow Atkins properly. But instead, we have to come here and let newbies know that eating apples right after Induction is not what they should do. Nor is having whole grains or whatever else you wrote about in your posts.

And by the way, the weight is coming off. Thank you for your concern, spinky.

also add exercise it helps alot!!!
We all know this already, spinky. But again, thank you for your concern and for the reminder.

i am ready to maintain weight next week.
In this case, I am glad you reached your goal. What are your CCLL and CCLM?

Actually, what you have been doing is more correctly described like this: you walk into an AA meeting with a keg of beer, a bottle of wine and a fifth of vodka and tell everyone "It's okay to have a drink once in a while. Anyone who tells you alcoholics should never drink booze again is just insane. I drink all the time. Here loosen up and have a sip. It won't hurt you. You won't fall off the wagon. It's a sad life if you can't have a drink once in a while. I drink all the time and I'm not a drunk. Or I was 15 years ago, did AA, and have been off the sauce (with the occasional beer here and there of course.) I've only come back because I feel that I've been slipping. BURRRRRP Sorry, excuse me for burping but beer always makes me belch. Nothing like a beer. MMMMMMMM Beer."

i think people are mad at me cause I can modify the diet a bit and make it work..and your not supposed to...i admit most people should NOT do what i am doing...but ive heard from 3 people that do the same thing...they dont tell you though.lol...they keep it to themselves...i should not have blabbed about how i do it..this is about atkins not me.
If you "modify" basketball by playing it on a tennis court, using a football and running around bases to score a touch-down, you try as you might to call it basketball; it isn't---and anyone with even 1/2 a functioning brain cell would tell you it isn't.

Maybe those people realize that this is an Atkins support board.

Spinky, it is not our responsibility to "police" whether the membership follows Atkins correctly when they are behind closed doors. It IS, however, our responsibility to make certain that the advice and support given on this board is in compliance with 2002 DANDR.

You said it, yourself, above... this is about Atkins - not you!

just remember the people who run the boards and are the moderators or who police the site, are hard core. Know the book inside out, and are all very helpful and supportive. Love em or hate em they know what they are talking about, and offer their advice and most the time dictate straight from the book. DANDR. i have no idea what that means, lol,and thats ok. Just stick with what you know. If you are having problems with dropping 10 lbs i think you said ???? Up Your Cardio/weight lifting, and ck. your ratios of veggies/fat/protein. Its really pretty simple, but with out a heck of alot of weight to lose, you cant expect big numbers anymore. Dr. Atkins said somewhere in the book not to stress about the last 10lbs. ??? Im not going to go on the defense. (What for) lol que sara sara. But,IMO, since you are on your last stretch. You should inspire others, and post pics of the before you 120lbs ago/10yrs ago, and an after pic.

So from 10:20 a.m. yesterday morning you went from doing 2 weeks of induction and not losing even one pound--weighing exactly the same weight, to a mere 31 hours later, you are within 3 pounds of what you want to weigh and "the 2 weeks has brought you back to where you need to be." The last "few days" the weight has been pouring off. There was only one day and seven hours between the post where you had not lost even a pound to the one where the weight has been pouring off and the 2 weeks had brought you back to where you need to be. How is that? Time travel?

People who say it can't be done, should not interrupt those doing it.
