You seem to know the board pretty well. Good job for learning so fast.

the only way to do this diet is by the book...i know that..anyone who thinks they can weasel out of obligations on this diet is wrong and others need to keep in mind that this is serious and there isnt room to play here...

i am serious about this..i realize i have some obstacles in my path...i need to control my drinking of beer and coffee...i have an addictive personality...

Thank you, johnny. I like helping people who are on this board because they really want to follow Atkins.

there isnt room to play here...
This is not what one can infer from the fact that you are losing 2 lbs per week. No matter how many times you repeat that one has to do Atkins by the book.

                      Hey!

Coffee is so personal! Keeping it with me doesn't affect my weight loss or it certainly didn't the first time I did Atkins. I know that Bob Harper on the Biggest Loser and my trainer advocate that coffee (in MODERATION) boosts the metabolism and has antioxidants! They don't mind me having a cup of day or my trainer doesn't!

So it's personal. If it isn't affecting your blood sugar levels, have it! I sometimes have decaf just to be safe!

Re: What's the big deal about caffeine again?

Have you ever had blood sugar problems? If not, you probably don't know what all the fuss is about... generally people who are diabetic, pre-diabetic or hypoglycemic can have real problems if they have some caffeine just out of the blue...

If your blood sugar is normal and doesn't go up and down like a yo yo, then cutting out caffeine probably isn't going to effect you much...

If you are going to quit coffee, you might as well be caffeine free...

I drink diet coke with caffeine, but because I drink it consistantly I don't have blood sugar spikes like I would if I only drank it once in a while...
