  • I found a cure for leg cramps

I just recently started getting leg cramps here and there. Not frrequently but I have had a few. I found that drinking more water actually makes them worse, not better. Reason is, (my doc says) the water will flush out even more electrolytes if you drink lots more water when having cramps. He agrees with the supplements though, that Dr. A recommends (plus he said if that didn't work to add 1 c. more vegg to my plan and that would help but I would only do that at last resort) and he told me about this homeopathic stuff to take. I took it once and voila! No more cramps!

Its called Hyland's Homeopathic Leg Cramps. It is an all natural remedy to leg cramps. If you have them a lot and everyday/night, you take 1-2 tablets every 4 hours. If less frequent, you can take them as needed. I only had to take them once and I haven't had them again (well, yet!) It can also be used for sciatica and lower back spasms. This stuff is a Godsend and I hope you guys try it if you have issues with leg cramps! You can find it at Walmart for about $4 in the vitamin section near the menopause vitamins/tests (lol! funny!) in a small white and orange-reddish box with "leg cramps" in big blue letters. They do have it in an ointment form, for fast relief but I haven't been able to find that yet at Walmart. Hope this helps some of you!

If it's night time leg cramps, you can try drinking sugar-free tonic water. Tonic water contains quinine. In addition to curing malaria, quinine also releives nocturnal leg cramps.

Calcium supplements with magnesium does the job for me and I think its what our good Doctor recommends also.

I tried that, but it just doesn't work for me. I still take the supplements still but as for the cramps, it had no impact. I don't see anything wrong with taking the Leg Cramps as it is all natural and Dr. A was all about natural products as well as vitamins.

can you really get quinne still in tonic water? the FDA pulled it due to the damage unregulated use was doing as a cure for night time leg cramps.

if you have electrolyte leg cramps you can eat more of them in your veggies or take some supplements but consult your doc for the ones you need. they are also symptoms of some medical conditions too so if they persist see your doc.

No one mentioned potassium supplements? The minute I get cramps I head for the potassium and at night I usually take calcium and magnesium.

PLease discuss any potassium supplementation with your doc before you start as too much potassium can and does stop human hearts!

look on your fitday.com reports tab and see if you are lacking in any vits or minerals before you try to cure yourself with electroyltes.

                          Happy low carbing.

Too little potassium can lead to heart attacks as well - the heart is a muscle afterall, but it generally starts at your extremeties.

How much potassium does one take? I know the max for food and supplement is 3500 - 4700 mg. I am constantly low in my fitday and I have HORRIBLE calf cramps in the early morning hours (3 or 4) that wake me every day. I am taking about 1500 calcium and 300 magnesium. I have just added 100 mg potassium but am reluctant to add more so any ideas would be great!

Also, what's is Hyland's Homeopathic Leg Cramps made of? What are the ingredients? That will tell us a lot.
                              Crawling still gets you there!
