  • Exercise on the Atkins???????

    Okay, so I took the advice from a lot of you guys on my last post asking if the atkins diet really works, and I have read the book, and so here I am of Day 1 of Induction. Im a little confused with the exercise though. Dr. Atkins recommends at least thirty minutes of exercise a day, but I do more than that. I exercise for 1 hour everday, so am I supposed to cut down on the exercise, or will I lose even more weight with the amount I am doing now?

    Exercise is a magic thing. It means you can make progress in improving your body when the scale is moving, and when it is not. You gain so much, you can keep up with your teenagers, and taut muscles just feel fantastic!

    You do not need to drop back on your exercise. "at least' means 30 minutes is a minimum.. not a goal. You are already surpassing that and it will just mean bigger (smaller) results for you!

      Congrats on getting on the program......You answered your question in your post. Dr. Atkins recommends "at least" 30 minutes of exercise (not sure it's a day or 5 days a week, can't remember). So, doing an hour a day is more than the doctor ordered...

        It's great to see that you have asked for and listened to advice, and then read the book to check it out for yourself. Even better, you have now started with full knowledge of how it works and now you are off on a great start on this new way of life! That's the way to do it right! Congratulations!

            An hour of running? Yikes, good for you! I can't even keep my car running for an hour.

              Thanks, it seems weird how I can run for an hour and not stay in shape, the thing is my overeating problem, thank god for atkins.
