Re: what did you eat "weird" as a child?

The weirdest thing I can think of is I used to peel a carrot, chop it into little pieces with those old fashioned chopping things you slam down with the little blades, then I'd lift it up and cover it with sugar and chop it up again.

Crickey - I wonder why I became carb addicted lol

Re: what did you eat "weird" as a child?

We used to take marshmallows and smoosh them up in our fingers. We would then use the smoosh like a taffy pull- then- eventually after having been played with for 30 or so minutes- eat the resulting marshmallow goo---I really don't think we ever washed our hands though.....
Also- I seem to remember in grade 6 there was a huge fad for flavored lip gloss- the solid stick kind- and yes- we girls used it a a snack item- to be nibbled on at discretion

Now going to have breakfast.... I think.....

Raw cinnamon rolls... or just about any raw dough. Ciinamon rolls were my favorite, though.

ok this isn't 'weird' to me, and I can probably still do it on atkins lol but i'm from south east texas and the best thing about spring is a crawfish boil, and sucking the juice out of their heads

I loved peanut butter and bacon sandwiches. But I had a friend who liked ketchup on vanilla ice cream (I cannot even imagine how awful it looked much less tasted).

Now I know this sounds absolutely disgusting and I'm not sure I'd do it now as an adult - but I used to LOVE them (course, could be the reason why i was a fat kid! haha)

                anyone else eat anything "weird"?
Oh that is so similar to my fave childhood food....but I like peanut butter, banana and mayonaise!! I don't think I could stomach that now. The PB and banana yes, not with mayo. Maybe....

Jill, my oldest son loves peanut butter and bacon sandwiches! The first time he made one we all asked if he was pregnant! LOL

Peanut butter, miracle whip and lots of crispy lettuce. I would still be eating them, they are delish. My grandfather would eat saltine crackers crushed up in milk w/ sugar like cereal. Had to be a depression thing, its good. Applesauce and peas( the blanched kind like on a salad bar). Bologna sandwiches with ketchup, potatoe chips and m&m's on it.

Re: what did you eat "weird" as a child?

I grew up in the Artic and we sometimes ate some cool stuff that are not normal to eat in these more temperate zone - like seal, sea birds, whale, reindeer.
One of my favourite things as a kid (and I would still eat it if I could find it) was to eat cod(that had hung out and aged a bit - this is done in very cold weather so it is not bad, but it is a bit of an acquired taste) with rendered sheep fat. Boy was that yummy.

as a kid I was OBSESSED with raw brussel sprouts... not the oddest food but bizzare for a kid to like... my mom told me they were "baby cabbages" and i would eat anything "baby" (baby carrots, baby corn, baby tomatoes)- you get the point

Brussel sprouts - now that is weird. Yet to find a kid that likes 'em. Even hard to find grown ups who do.

Re: what did you eat "weird" as a child?

I'm sufficiently weirded out for the day...

My weird foods were fresh white bread with miracle whip, or white bread with butter and grape jelly. I was never one to add ketchup to my eggs or macaroni, but will dip my steak and fish into it. Drove my mom nuts that I wouldn't eat tomatoes but loved ketchup and spaghetti sauce.

I was one of those kids that didn't like most foods, and couldn't stand food touching each other. There was a Thanksgiving I went without dinner when I was 8 because all the food was touching all the other food on the plate....no way I was eating any thing that touched the broccoli! BLECH!

Today...broccoli is my most favorite vegetable. LOL

                                ~280~270~260~250~240~230~220~210~200~190

                                Realistic Final Goal: 190
                                Stretch Goal: 140

Successfully did Atkins in 1998 using 1992 copy of the book...before it was "hip". Lost 60lbs, exercised daily, felt and looked great. And then I moved in with a junk-food loving man, my mom got sick and passed away, then I suffered a spinal cord injury, and junk-food dude left me...and now I weigh 292lbs. That's 22lbs MORE than I weighed the first time around. It's 10 years later...I know this will work for me again.
