      Re: Low carb Bread

i have no idea i didnt look at any of the grains i ate

it was whole wheat thats all i know i dont know anything about grains xD

also at first the item at the store it was named something like whole wheat low Carb Atkin wraps and then about 6 months later they removed the Atkins part and just named it low carb whole wheat wraps xD

i do know i feel pretty crappy when eating whole wheat even though it tastes really good

i supos i could try testing things or seeing if people who are allergic to grains have some grains there not allergic too

        That is a good idea
Nowadays with so many people conscious of having an intolerance or allergy to wheat there are many 'bread' products out there that contain other kinds of grain.

It would mean a lot of label reading to see what ingredients are in them but I think it would be worth discovering if there are any grains you can manage without problems.
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
Take a look at the thread from the latest Veggie Challenge to see how others manage it!

Are those numbers from the daily plate correct? Do they have two kinds of "light breads?

Liv, you are on the "White Bread" tab - the bread something'sgottagive is looking at is on the "Wheat Bread" tab
Light Wheat Bread - High Fiber Food | Wonder Bread.

              I am getting 6net carbs/slice though, not 3. (9 total - 3 fibre = 6 net carbs)

                Re: Low carb Bread

I dont have the advantage of buying low carb convenience foods like low carb bread but Ive tried oopsie rolls and maybe two other kinds of bread and the truth is they all taste like eggs to me and that disgusts me for some reason and I couldnt stand the smell of the flax seed bread.

So I realized that it was more of a want than a need and ive used lettuce in place of bread so far and if I really think about it I really don't need bread.

But i really love Lindas thin pizza crust but havent used it for anything but pizza so far.

I use them too. I know that it's not exactly by the book, but it does help me stay low carb. I figure if these can help me stay on course (which I've lost 27 lbs) then they are worth it. I'm actually getting to the point where I don't even think about bread and it is just habit to eat burgers and other foods in low carb wraps. My main goal is to lose weight and keep it off. If eating low carb tortillas is part of the solution, then I'm sticking with it.

                      Re: Low carb Bread

                      I have to interject here.....

I get the awful feeling that everyone thinks that Induction Phase is the entire Atkins Diet. It's not. The 14 Days are very strict for a number of reasons, including getting you into ketosis/lypolysis. But after Induction, you move to On-Going WEight Loss Phase. That Phase is more liberal, that is, you add foods back into your diet slowly and categorically to reduce bad effects like blood sugar symptoms. I know folks think it's a waste of time to do that. But consider this.....if it is such a waste of time, why did Dr. Atkins feel the need to give OWL Phase more structure and more organization that he did in the past? It's because he saw that his patients benefitted by having those foods reintroduced in a careful and organized way, then to throw things in willy-nilly.
