  • American Cheese: To Eat or Not to Eat

Are American Cheese slices (like the plain old Kraft brand) acceptable for the Induction phase? I've been eating at least 3 slices a day at 1 carb per slice. Hoping this is not going to stall my progress. Thanks!!

Read the ingredients. Does it say whey or milk protein concentrate? If these are there, then the cheese is not allowed on Induction.

American Cheese is iffy, try sliced cheddar as it's made from real cheese.

It means you are not allowed to have it until OWL Rung 2.

So will this stall my entry into ketosis?

Probably not - just keep going. It is all part of the learning process. We probably all did some oopsies on induction.

if you can - buy a cheese slicer and a real cheese block - REAL cheese tastes so much better than that processed stuff anyways (at least, in my opinion).

as far as ketosis - you should be fine.
