    Sham~ So sorry to hear about your throat.

    I would say liquids are the best thing. Warm liquids (tea, broth, etc) preferably but really any liquids would be ok. Maybe yogurt, applesauce..soft foods, if you feel you need something more.

    Are you taking any pain reliever and does that help at all?

      OH Sham I hope you get better soon. It is no fun being sick and from what you have said before this flu is the worse.

        Sorry you arent feeling any better sham i would drink alot of liquids, it always help me when im not feeling great.

        Buddies i confess have had a bad few days off atkins plan i dont even know what triggered me to do it but im starting afresh today.

          Hi focus I really dont want to be hard on you but buddie I am not going to say its ok start again because focus your messing with yourself and your body you keep breaking it and then confessing I seriously want you to do well and as a true buddie I am going to tell you to work on willpower and be stronger you have done it before and will do it again if you stick to it.Like this focus you will be starting and restarting repeatedily and all that exercise your doing will be wasted too.Oh focus please have a long rethink and try to figure out why you break the diet and what leads you to because your one person i really want suceeding on the diet and i want to help you achieve that.Please dont mind my words focus i really mean well.

              Goodmorning and that it is here today.. a beautiful sunshine day and I feel fantastic.
              Sham thank you so much for the invitation to join this buddies thread. I sure will need the support to succeed at this. How are you feeling today? I sure hope they have a vaccine up and ready for this flu soon. Take it easy and hopefully by next week you will be doing great,
              I am sticking to my induction and i believe I am getting enough veg in as my fitday(i actully bought this program a few yrs ago) is giving me a rough 60-65% for fat,around 3-5% carb and the rest is protein 30%. I get to weigh myself legitamately on Monday but of course i snuck a peek today. yep it was down but I am so afraid to say how much until Monday as we all know today is one thing tomorrow could be up so I will wait patiently(not )
              I am getting lots of walking in these days as a friend is here to walk with and we have been getting in well over 15000 steps aday. she leaves today so I hope I can continue to do so.
              Well this is becoming a book so I am off for breadfast. I always check here first thing in the morning for my inspiration..

                Hey all im backkkkk!!! I think :S

                i done atkins a few weeks ago, managed week, and stuck to it. Lost 8lbs. I missed fruit and coffee so mch i couldnt do it any more, and i have put the 8lbs straight bk on. You think i could do the atkins kind of, without bread pasta etc and have fruit and coffee and milk???


                First Mini Goal: Loose 10lbs = 11st12lbs
                Second Mini Goal: Loose 12lbs = 11st0lbs
                Third Mini Goal: Loose 10lbs = 10st 4lbs
                Fourth Mini Goal: Loose 10lbs = 9st 8lbs

                  laura1986: Nope!! lol nice try though Just keep thinking how healty you will be and if you stick to the induction those 2 weeks just fly by(well almost) then you can start adding things. I sure missed my milk as well so I take 1 tbsp of heavy cream and add a ½ cup of water to it..with a ½ of bacon rinds I have a nice cereal and get my milk as well..toss in a 1/8 tsp of cinnamon and some Davini syrup..mmm good. satisfies the milk and the cereal cravings..

                    hey buddysgirl, sorry i didnt welcome you before to the thread, i sneaked on here from a cheat :S sounds like you are doing great so far though everyone on here is very nice and helpful so any problems just ask away.

                    Welcome back laura, me and sham hoped you would come back. we always jump and off this plan but we come back to it because we all know it works well for us

                      Hi Hilda welcome to our buddie thread I am glad you joined and would love hearing for you daily.We love regulars so drop by every day we are all here to support eachother and celebrate our sucess etc,even share our negative sides on the diet.I an also restarting the diet on induction from tomorrow and hope to do well.By the way im fully better just abit of a cough thats ok.The vacines will arrive next month in the surgeries they announced but now their deciding who will have priority like asthmatics,diabetics etc.Anyway keep up the walking when I started a year ago I used to do lots of long walks which helped me lose the weight at the beginning so good on you keep going.I really hope you do well on induction keep us informed on how much you lose I hope you do well.

                        HiFocus buddie im starting induction tomorrow and since you cheated I want you to start fresh with me tomorrow and I will be checking up on you daily and you have to promise to be honest and must stick to the diet because Im going to be harsh on you.We will both weigh tomorrow and will report any losses to spur eachother on and any worries or anytime you feel down you get in touch with me no carbs! Do you agree and will you promise?

                        Hi LAURA it truelly was a pleasant suprise knowing your back but no fruits or coffee allowed so you have to decide can you keep the diet up and give up these foods in the long run?This will help you decide whether atkins is the diet for you or not its entirely upto you.I hope you make a wise decision.

                          Buddysgirl~Welcome to the group! Nice to have you with us.

                          Sham~Glad to hear you are feeling better! Hopefully things are back to normal for you now.

                          Focus~Don't be too hard on yourself. I know there are other low carb diets out there. I find it rather confusing...the other low carb diets that seem to work for people. South Beach, Carb Addict's diet,etc They seem more "lenient" than Atkins. Personally, I can't bring myself to stray from Atkins because this seems to work for me. The thing I like about it is how it controls my eating/cravings (not perfectly mind you but pretty darn good). I think on the other plans, eating more fruit and other carbs would be setting me up for failure. That's just me though. Just a thought..and yes, I am rambling.

                          Norman~Glad to see some of the boards are entertaining you. Its actually nice to have a few guys in the mix here.

                          Well, life has just been crazy for me lately. A ton of running around. Today one of my boys and I are off to a concert. It will be a long day and who knows what the food situation will be (I will pack food for the drive but I am not dragging a bunch of extra stuff into the actual concert).

                          Hope EVERYONE has a great day and a fun weekend! Be good to yourselves.

                              Focus and Laura...so sorry. I think I got your messages confused and see now that Laura was the one talking about fruit.

                              Laura...people don't like this but I do drink coffee. I have cut back A LOT but I will drink one small cup in the morning, and one in the afternoon. I love my coffee. Maybe I would lose weight quicker without it...I don't know. All I know is I do lose weight and I do drink coffee. So it might be something you have to try and see how it effects you. For me, I think it is the splenda and the cream I put in it that is more of a worry.

                              And as for fruit...if you follow the rungs, it really isn't toooo long before you can get to the fruit rung.

                                Hope everyone is having agreat saturday.

                                Sham im not going to restart induction until tomorrow/sunday because thats when i normally weigh myself but yes i will try my hardest to get back on track with you. been trying to exercise more so hopefully cancel out the binges ive been having :S
