Believe me I've put 2 kids in the car under 2 just to go get something to binge on... so not worth it... Okay for Mac and Cheese try this

Linda's Low Carb Menus & Recipes

OMG! It so hit the spot and I had to freeze the rest to stay out of it!!! Really, that good.

and for the brownies, I don't know.. but something I found that was good and is posted on the recipe is "button drops" or something like that...

in a nut shell it is cream cheese melted, a couple packs of splenda, and flavoring.. you mix it and drop it on parchment paper and freeze and then eat it... It was just the something sweet enough without making me feel I wanted more... always a plus.

Hang in there... as for the water, just try to drink a little more here and there and it starts to add up... I know you can do it!

It is okay if it takes me a little longer to get there, besides this is where I'm going to stay forever and that is a really long time!!!

Were you going to be placed under arrest for not taking the "free sample" -- there was a conscience cheat there.....no matter what you say!!! LOL

Goin2: Thank you for the encouragement The recipe doesn't sound too bad and I might go ahead and make it tomorrow night. What kind of flavoring do you put w/the cream cheese? That sounds awesome I LOVE cream cheese and would love to make it for dessert.

              Re: Day of confessions

Good evening, guys and gals! Today was a better day, not a bundle of energy (is that is a myth? I haven't had a rush of energy yet, and I could sure use it!) but much, much better than yesterday. Of course, my weigh-in today may have had something to do with my mood. I was down 7 lbs. of water weight! I'm so happy!! And, being in ketosis, now all I have to do is stick with it and watch the lbs. drop off, right??!!

I managed to get my percentages closer today also. As I understand it, I should strive for 65% fat, 35% protein and 5% carbs and today I managed 62% fat, 30% protein and 8% carbs, much better than yesterday when I had 81, 14 and 5! I still don't understand how I'm going to get that balance everyday, but I'll figure it out with the help of SparkPeople!

Great Job Jeanettee!!!! You are doing great and wow... 7 pounds already... that is amazing. For me, on Day 5 I started to feel less hungry and maybe seem to be getting some energy, I can't really tell. We are doing great and for sure a great team. Great job with the %...

Confession... I know I should, I haven't actually started tracking my food. I kinda just eat what I know I should/shouldn't and go on with the day. I'm sure when the weight stops going the direction I want it to, I will have to start tracking, but for now, I am letting my mind control it.

I must confess that I haven't felt this great about myself and my abilities to have control over my life in such a long time. It is such a rewarding experience to believe you can do it and that you are working so hard and at the end of the day, you know your efforts are making a real difference.

Today is day 6 for me... I am down to 361.8, now I'm sure this will not stay like that forever, and I don't plan on weighing everyday of my life either, but for now it is keeping me committed and on track and focused.

Actually, the ratio for Induction is 65% Fat, 30% Protein, and 5% Carbs. As you move through OWL, your percentage of Fat will go down, as the percentage for Carbs increases... the Protein will stay at a constant 30%.

As for hitting it on the nose everyday - nah, I wouldn't get crazy over it. These percentages are only a guideline... something to aim for. My numbers were rarely "perfect"... my biggest reason for using it was to make sure that I wasn't overdoing protein. (Excess protein turns to glucose).

Sounds like you're doing well - keep up the great work!

                    Re: Day of confessions

Amanda, you have such a wonderful attitude - just the kind you need to succeed!!

When you are ready to track your foods, check out SparksPeople. All trackers require some custom input and once you start doing that you don't want to change, no matter which tracker you use. So might as well start out using the one that's not only easy, but, in my opinion, the best!

Mitzi, thanks for the info. I have the "suggested percentages" written down next to my computer as a reminder of what to shoot for. I have a hard time keeping the fats down, the carbs and proteins are not problem. Maybe keeping the fats up isn't so bad????

                      Re: Day of confessions

Today I am really struggling to drink my water. I don't have any reason for it and usually don't notice I'm drinking it, but today it just doesn't want to go down.

It isn't the taste, I drink filtered water from the fridge and I can't stand sweet drinks. I sometimes drink black coffee, but don't really like it without milk so my only liquid is plain water.

I'll just have to keep sipping away!

                        Re: Day of confessions

Chillispice~ Did you always drink only water before Atkins? I did and still drink only water, however, I have noticed sometimes from time to time I needed something else and would have drank a sprite or 7up, something clear... so when I felt I needed something, I simply took half a lemon, 1 packet of splenda, and 8oz of water... it was just enough to give me that change and I think introduction friendly., I know you can have like 2-3 TBSP (count carbs) so I felt it was worth it. Maybe try that if you are kinda in a water blah!!!

I had used fitday before (will try out spark people another day to see if I like it better) and I decided to plug in my food for today.. it is 3:30 pm and I had breakfast, snack, and lunch... and here is my numbers:

Fat 64%, Protein 32%, and Carb 5% (12g so far)...

I just have dinner left and it will be chicken leg and thigh cooked in onions, with 1 cup of cucumbers or mixed salad (haven't decided yet) and that should have my numbers right about the same.

So it seems this time I really do understand what I'm doing, how and what and how much of everything I'm suppose to be eating, ect. I feel so great about that.

Also, I was so happy I went to CVS and seen all the magazines on weight loss, loose 10 pounds in 4 days or something like this and my first thought was let me get it and see what to do... and then I said no, I'm doing great doing what I'm doing!!! Such an amazing feeling to be confident about yourself and your choices for one in life.

                          Re: Day of confessions

Amanda, I would usually drink coffee (with milk) or water. In my teens, a very long time ago, I drank coke, but can't stomach it now. I'm love homemade lemonade, but I haven't tried making it with splenda - might be worth a try, using the juice and rind of a lemon. You've given me something to think about, thank you!

                            Re: Day of confessions

                            Confession for today.

I wanted something sweet, badly. I knew I could make a low-carb treat, but I'm really trying to get through the first 14 days (at least) without a dessert type food. What I did instead was have SF kool aide with liquid splenda. I know water is the preferred drink, but the kool aide satisfied my "sweet tooth" and costs me nothing in the nutrient department.

Speaking of, again today I was off on my percentages. Still heavy on the fat end (sigh)! Back to the drawing board!!

this is what is in sugar free kool - aid ---- aspartame....so you had 2 sweetners in your treet:

this are the ingredients in grape sugar free kool-aid.

                              malic acid
                              maltodextrin
                              citric acid
                              calcium phosphate
                              aspartame
                              salt
                              acesulfame potassium
                              and less than 2% of:
                              artificial flavor
                              ascorbic acid (vitamin c)
                              red #40
                              Blue #1

next time try a little lemon juice and a packet of splenda -- better for you ... no chemicals!

Chili -- I make fresh lemonade with splenda several times a month. It tastes real good and is refreshing. I also make "mock lemonade" as I described above for my husband on hot days - he loves it.

Aspartame, LOL! It's been so-o-o-o-o long since I've had SF kool aide that I had completely forgotten about the aspartame! You're right, of course, Carole, I could have used lemon juice and Splenda, or, for that matter, herb tea. But the SF kool aide was in a drawer I was cleaning out and so, that's what I had! Now, excuse me while I go flush the kool aide down the drain!!
