You are such a beautiful person. Please focus on your health and happiness and don't do stuff that may harm your body and your metal stability. There are some exercise regimes that can really tone, you may want to see how those can help. Wish you all kinds of luck and happiness.

      Dear frds

I was so dissapointed last night that i ate a piece of bread and some almonds last night at my frds place, they wre all making fun of my diet :-( and I felt really bad about it and thought I should quit atkins.
Truth is Ive been doing low carb for a long time now, but the low carb i did was also low fat- which kept me hungry all the time. Now All this fat somehow my liver i guess is not able to digest.

I know I am not overweight, but my body is kinda disproportionate. All the fat or water gained goes to my face, thighs and butt. My upper body is perfect, infact I have flat abs- absolutely no fat on my upper body, my waist size is 24. and my hips - 36
Everyone just comments on my back when they see me. Just looks odd on my small body frame :-(. Last year i was 108 lbs and looked perfect. my bum didnt seem to look so big at that weight. ;-). thats all no big goals.

Guys can u give me a meal o follow, that probably has worked for a person wanting to loose last 5 lbs. On the atkins site, they recommended I start from pre-maintenance to loose 5 lbs (but I guess that would happen in a year).

Thank you so much for all your support.

      Love

Just get back on track. The almonds, though not Induction legal as per DANDR 2002, were not a super bad choice. The bread was though.

But I'm curious, why do your friends make fun of Atkins?

What makes you think your body is not able to digest fat?

There really isn't such thing, because most folks start Atkins when overweight, then move to OWL and when they have 5-10 lbs left to lose they advance to Pre-Maintenance. Do you have difficulties designing Induction menus using the acceptable foods list? The menus you've posted before were looking fine, after you eliminated the Atkins bars, etc.

I think you need to realize that it might take even a few months to lose 5 lbs in a healthy way. But you have the choice of being patient and choosing a proper nutritional approach, or of damaging your health.

As I understand, the problem right now are the 2 lbs you've gained in the last 4 days. Post your menus and your exercise and let's figure out if there's something wrong there or if the weight gain is simply a normal weight fluctuation. Are you around TOM? Are you still taking the hormonal medication?

My family has a history of liver/kidney problems, which makes me think that may be my liver is sensitive to metabolize fat in an efficient way.Since I started induction , I can feel a fluffiness on my face, it looks as if i have retained a lot of water in my cheeks, what could be the reason?
I am also near my TOM, I should have got it by now but its getting delayed too? m just scared. U have seen my menus in my previous posts, I have a feeling I ate tooo many calories though- could it be the reason?

If you believe you have a health problem, you should immediately see your doctor. I imagine you work pretty close to her/him, since you were on hormonal medication before.

TOM causes water retention, so that might be the cause for the "fluffiness" and also for the weight gain.

Are you taking a daily multivitamin? Any other nutritional supplements you are taking?

U have seen my menus in my previous posts, I have a feeling I ate tooo many calories though- could it be the reason?
If you didn't eat until full/stuffed, but only enough to satisfy your hunger, then you probably did not overeat.

You had too much cheese at some point and an Atkins bar on day 3. Both could cause water gain. The Atkins bars have sugar alcohols, which some of us metabolize as real sugar and therefore the carbs should be counted (all or part of them) as net carbs.

So my point here... TOM is around the corner and your menus weren't perfect. Both could have contributed to your weight gain, but it should be water weight, not fat. Do some tweaks to your menus and evaluate only on day 15, using the info in Chapters 12 & 13 of DANDR 2002. Four days is not enough to decide whether an eating plan works for you.

Let us know how you're doing.

Yeah really to be honest. Unless you are 3 ft tall, 107 to 112 lbs is more then fine....in some instances underweight. But if you are over 4'11 its more than healthy.

                Hey Guys

M back after a while, very happy with the results.
I m back to 108.4 lbs today and I feel soooooooooooo goood. It feels awesome to be at this weight again. I did OWL and also restricted my calories to 1400 a day with exercise and it worked!
I guess b4 I was consuming too many calories through cheese and mayo.
I would like to thank all of you for constant support and help.

Re: Need Serious Help!! :-( (Atkins Fan)

Just saw this thread and wanted to comment. I am also 5' 3" and to lose any weight I have to stay very close to induction level on carbs. Also, being a short person, I cannot eat large quantities of food. After reading your posts, I think eating too much food may have been your problem and was keeping the weight from coming down. Here is what I typically eat in a day, if I eat more than this I won't lose any weight. Hope this helps.

Breakfast: 2 eggs (fried, scrambled, or hard boiled) 1/2 cup veggies (usually lettuce or stir fry peppers, sometimes I use salsa instead, and 1 teaspoon mayo

Lunch: 1 cup lettuce, a sprinkling of cheddar cheese, a tablespoon of ranch dressing, topped with 6 ounces of some sort of meat (tuna, chicken, taco seasoned ground beef)

snack: either 1 string cheese or two deviled egg halves

Dinner: 6 ounces of meat and green veggies (salad, green beans, cabbage, broccoli)

snack: small handful of pork rinds

I never gave up coffee, gotta have the caffeine!

Sometimes I'm not hungry for a snack after dinner, so I don't eat one. I was eating too much mayo and cheese and my weight stalled for a while. Ketosis rocks, makes weight loss easy!!!

                    Best of luck, this works!

                      Hey

Yes ofcourse I will follow atkins for the rest of my life. Ive never felt so good in life without starving myself. I eat 5-6 small low carb meals within 1400 cals and it works for me. Drink loads of water, but along with that exercise is the key. I have now increased my carbs it gives me that kick I need for my lengthy cardio sessions. Other than that I keep low carb. No cheating, not even alcohol unless its a real big occasion. everyone deserves a treat. Treat yourself once you have reached your goal weight. Reward yoourself for being so dedicated but don;t overdo it.

Too much mayo & cheese makes me gain weight, Ive seen olive oil works best for me. Its light and digestible. dont be hungry, eat if u feel like eating but only to satisfy yourself. My marriage date is near. I will post pics of my marriage soon.

Being a short person sux, as every pound gained looks like 10 lbs on my body.

So yeah I hope everyone reaches their goals in life. Just remember being happy and content with your body image is the best thing to do.!
