Anyway there is a brand of eggs called Egg Lands's Best with zero carbs per egg. The chickens are on a special vegitarian diet that makes this possible. We get ours at shoprite. Hope this helps.

Re: Zero Carb Egg Brand
Hen on a vegetarian diet... Interesting. So why does a vegetarian hen lay 0 carb eggs?Originally posted by Atkinsatkinsatkins View PostHey everyone this is my first day on the forum. Re: Zero Carb Egg Brand
Most chickens are on "vegetarian diets" because they are fed grains. It's the free range or cage free chickens who are able to omnivorously because they can peck worms out of the ground and eat insects.
Anyhow, I doubt those eggs are "0" carbs because the egg yolk contains carbohydrates. The developing chick feeds off the yolk, so that's were all the nutrients lie.
Unless they genetically altered the yolks to contain absolutely no carbs.

Re: Zero Carb Egg Brand
I think we will have to count the carbs till we have more scientific proofs. But thanks for trying to help. We always need help.
Are you eating a lot of eggs?
Good luck with your loss.

I had a quick browse of all their FAQs and as far as I could see, the word 'carbohydrate' was not mentioned!Originally posted by Atkinsatkinsatkins View PostThis is a link to their webcite FAQ's
They claim to be a bit lower in fat and cholesterol than other eggs, but no mention of carbs at all.
Where did you get the 'zero carbs' info from? Did I miss an FAQ with this info?Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
Take a look at the thread from the latest Veggie Challenge to see how others manage it!

Re: Zero Carb Egg Brand
But obviously from that chart they "think" ordinary eggs have 0 carb too
We know tht is not the case. It just looks like they are rounding down.

I ran the numbers from that link through a hidden carb calculator and it made the carb count 2.1 g!!Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?

Re: Zero Carb Egg Brand
I was wondering what happened when fat went down and protein stayed the same - what exactly makes up that 0.5 gram they are now "missing".
I do not really believe the hidden carb calc really got it right - because of rounding here and there the eggs are likely not that carby. But it does remind us what happens to products where they cut down on the fat for sure.

Re: Zero Carb Egg Brand
As others have implied, does it matter? Wouldn't 25 ounces of raw eggs would give you around 6 grams of carbs? And that would be equivalent to say, eating a dozen?
Now, if you could tell me where to find a spaghetti tree that produces zero-carb linguine, I'd be ever so much happier.
