    thanks georgiana.
    i guess thats what went wrong. that sample menu as like my everyday menu.
    i was eating a cup of vege a day in the end. but thats all the food i was eating. and i was eating no salad. cuz i was lazy to i guess
    i use a lt of herbs and spices in my meals which counts carbs and leave no space for some other foods sometime. i find it quite hard to keep my calculations accurate.

    anyways, ill do induction for just a few days and move on to owl. have to read that part of the book again.

    its good to know im not in the high category at least.

    i just checked the link you sent me, and i saw i actually flal under the low category!

      well, i have to go now bcuz my comp is out of battery. and its 3am. i will check this forum like every second from tomorrow onwards and hope to be in touch witt you both and lots of people so i feel im not alone. just joined today u know.

        I think your carb count is off. You need to use an enormous amount of spices to reach 20 net carbs. I know you said you're using a lot of herbs and spices, but on that little amount of food you're eating I don't think it's possible to use enough for 20 g. Use FitDay or something similar to track your foods and measure everything (with measuring cups, not by eye). This is the link to FitDay: http://www.fitday.com

        Something I forgot to add in my previous reply. You are not supposed to eat exactly 20 net carbs per day. You may have some days when you eat 10 and some days when you eat 18. That's fine as long as you only eat from the acceptable foods list, eat your 3 cups of veggies (3 cups of salad or 2 cups of salad and 1 cup of "other" veggies) and get over half of your net carbs from vegetables.

        Also don't get discouraged when you don't lose weight every day or even every week. Perfectly normal. This is a good sticky in the Atkins Diet FAQs:

          what the rungs mean to me:
          rung 1 - more veggies
          rung 2 - dairy (some milk in coffee)
          rung 3 - seeds, nuts (mostly sprinkled on salads)
          rung 4 - berries, melon
          rung 5 - wine -
          rung 6 - beans, hummus
          rung 7 - other fruits
          rung 8 - carrots/ potatoes (nah, prolly not)
          rung 9 - whole grains (fresh Dutch breads...)
          Major Goal - 128 lbs/ healthy range
          (on to pre-maintenance)

            hi, good morning, im much more motivated today, though gained 2 pounds , my mistake.. anyways... i do measure my food wth measuring cups. somedays end up eating like just 5g of carbs...its not good right? one day 5 g another day 19g... well, ill try be moderate now..

            im confused on how much carbs in a cucumber?
            can someone tell me excatly in like a cup of cucumber?

            i have checked the sticky before and should stick it on my brain now.. hehe.. well..

                oh thanks, i just checked it up. maan, onions have so much carbs! this is good, cuz for me i need measurements in terms of cup..this is gonna improve my diet...

                  is it okay to eat turkey sausage often? as it is processes meat??
                  its got like 2g of carbs in a bun length sausage. like 3-4 times a week? is that too much

                    What are those 2 g coming from? Read the list of ingredients. Does it contain sugar (e.g. dextrose), wheat, soy, or anything that is not on the acceptable foods list (I gave you the link to it above)? If it does, then it's not allowed during Induction.

                      yeah it is sugars, but i thought i read in the book sausage is allowed, just not that often, and i see people's sample recipies, even the sample recipe in the book, has a recipe with sausage and all..

                          There are sausages that are sold that don't contain sugar or other Induction-illegal ingredients. You just have to search for them. You need to check the ingredients on EVERY item you buy that has an ingredients list (obviously, fresh produce doesn't have an ingredients list normally). It isn't just about the carb count, you need to make sure you only eat ingredients on the Induction Acceptable Foods List. If you haven't been doing that, that's probably why you've been having such strong cravings.

                              I recently found some great, legal sausages at Whole Foods. You should check there if you have one near you.
