I have one more 200 calorie meal left at 8.p.m.
I feel fine so far, I'm not hungry at all. Amazing how satiating fat is.
I'm not resistant, I'm doing this out of pure curiosity.
I hope I can continue on... Maybe I should put a link on my blog to here, so I can check in.... hmmmm
I hope someone who has done it shows up. All I can say at this point is I'm fine and that when you're 200 calorie meals are coming basically from all fat... it's about 2 heaping T of food... which is really a snack...lol
page 273 of DANDR states:
"Let me make it clear that the Fat Fast is actually dangerous for anyone who is not metabolically resistant."
What I have read from ppl who have tried this for curiousity sake or for quick weight loss sake is that yes they lost weight and yes they did put it back on quickly after they went off of it.
Do you or what is...your plan when you go off the fat fast. Also, out of curiousity, what are your stats? Where you on Atkins at all..how long...how did you do or did you just go straight for the fat fast? Best of luck!
You may encounter many defeats, but you must not be defeated. In fact, it may be necessary to encounter the defeats, so you can know who you are, what you can rise from, how you can still come out of it. ~Maya Angelo~

I *believe* the above is a (cyb) "Cover Your Butt" statement.
I was certain I'd wake up this a.m. very hungry, but nope... I'm not hungry in the least... I'm thinking that has to do with absolutely no carbs yesterday... And being satiated by the 1,000 calories of mostly fat.
But it is only 9:30 a.m. on day two.
My plan is to continue on for the five days, then up my protein and possibly add celery and cabbage or other very low carb vegetables in strict moderation... and continue to see how that goes, if my hunger comes along with the incessant food thoughts I'll back up.
I'm getting an array of comments on my SparkPeople Blog here: Atkins Fat Fast
My grandson was rejecting his transplant kidney and I had gone down to California to help out my daughter (his mother) and my son-in-law. My daughter was finishing up nursing school and taking state boards... While I was gone I gained nearly 40 pounds... It wasn't a planned trip it, was a fast and furious trip that lasted nearly three months. When I got back home the instant quietness brought on a melancholy so deep I just couldn't get the new weight off with the induction method... Maybe I'm doing this because of it's simplicity and I need simple right now. I guess I'm not just doing this for the sake of curiosity.
When I first tried atkins my strips wouldn't turn and wouldn't turn. I thought I needed to do the fat fast. I only made it five days. There was a picture of a cherry cheesecake on my cream cheese box. I cracked. I don't even remember how much I lost, it wasn't a great amount or anything. I felt great once my strips started turning and had loads of energy. But it was boring and pretty awful after days of it, I happily switched back to induction and thankfully my strips still turned pink. I didn't gain the weight back. I will still fat fast if I have to to jump start ketosis, but only for a couple of days. I really just couldn't care to eat another spoonful of cream cheese. My body knows what to do with fat and protein now thankfully, I just wait awhile before even buying the strips now. I'd even rather wait an extra week than do a fat fast. I have kinda measure my green stuff on induction. I have to keep my protein lower and my fats higher. But I do it with the cheese of my choice and hamburger. lol

4th mini goal: 130!
I drink coffee. I drink when I am thirsty. I am just a low carber. Not on Atkins at all!!! He has everything to do with my weightloss and nothing to do with it, depending on who you ask.
Last week I was pigging out on my favorites, like green beans fried in bacon and onions... Then cabbage fried in bacon and onions...
I'm thinking the near 0 carbs is what is making this (so far) a breeze.
90% of the clothes in my closet are size 12 and size 14. I have been that size since high school, it's my norm. But right now I'm like a 20/22!
I'm so uncomfortable. I think I need to plan for any more "Emergency Trips".
Now that I know one can do this to me.
