    Re: Im a failure.

and i don't believe im setting myself up for failure, and i really don't need somebody telling me that im doing that. everybody has slip ups. and yes, i really do think in this case it was a good thing for me. this however does not mean im going to cheat all the time, because im not gonna cheat at all, i got right back on the wagon and im doing great! i follow atkins to the T except for those few slip ups which everybody does, so if you really think im setting myself up for failure because i cheated once and could have lost weight from it, you need to start telling everybody else to prepare for failure also. I'm doing nothing wrong. thanks.

      Re: Im a failure.

I didn't put words in your mouth. You were the one who wrote:

but yes jimmie48 i got back on track immediatly! i really had no trouble at all getting back on the wagon, it was easier than i thought, and i felt great the next morning!!
      Analyzing your sentence:
      The cheat
      (1) "ended up being a good thing for me"
      (2) "got the scale moving again"

What did the cheat do? It "got the scale moving again". You wrote this, not me.

Anyway, I'm glad to hear you are, in fact, not sure what got the scale moving. As you said, it could have been a bunch of other things that caused you to lose 4 lbs of (mostly) water (since one cannot lose 4 lbs of fat in one day). This means you burned the fat while you were sticking to your clean Induction eating.

That's not what I wrote. Read again:

So, imo, you are setting yourself up for failure not because you cheated (that's done and in the past now), but because you continue your Atkins thinking a cheat is good for you.

Even if it wasn't the cheat that got the scale moving, the scale still moved after i cheated, didn't go up now did it? i totally disagree with everything you say 100% i have my own opions and im sticking to them, i don't need people telling me im setting myself up for failure because im not so if your gonna continue to say that, Don't reply to my post. thank you!!!

Was it bad for you. If you only care about the number on the scale, I don't know, because one's weight on a particular day is not necessarily determined by what he/she ate the day before, unless one gained/lost a lot of water weight. On the other hand, if you care about your health, then it was probably not good for you, because a high carbohydrate meal after a period of low carbing will falsely (i.e. temporarily) classify you as having impaired glucose tolerance. The longer you eat low carb, the worse your GTT results will be. So for a few hours, while your body is fighting the sugar, the carb load you had is free to cause eye damage, kidney damage, nerve damage, blood vessel damage, etc. Sounds bad enough to me.

                Re: Im a failure.

since the last two posts were deleted [yes, i read them via my email] i figure what was asked had been answered, support given in different forms and either taken or not and i think to keep things from boiling over, it is safe to close the thread.
